The first step in taking back our power is understanding why the attacks occurred ~ in knowing they didn’t manifest out of our own character defects, that’s when the healing process can begin. For many women the attacks begin early in childhood with the dark father through various forms of physical, sexual and psychological abuse. The first dysfunctional primary relationship sets a self perpetuating pattern of attracting dark men into their personal relationship, and the lack of real love or the existence of a nurturing protective relationship with the father, also destroys a sense of boundaries leading to unhealthy patterns of seeking love and affection through inappropriate means that always lead to more rejection, lack of self respect. Another tactic in the subjugation of the Divine Feminine is the use of sexual terrorism and violence as a way to shatter a woman’s self-esteem, self-confidence, sense of security and independence.

The same patterns, only in reverse can be said for many males born with the Dark Mother aspect, that lead to self-destructive patterns of attracting self-serving, materialistic, controlling women. Who take advantage of their generous nature in a myriad of ways that serve to strip their masculinity and feelings of self-worth, strength and protective nature.
