National polls show voters are losing faith in elected leaders. Every election year, the dark web of deceit, and delusions spread more.  I cannot be a part of this destructive process. However, in Talkeetna, Alaska, a town of 900 residents, economic prosperity, and a mayor who is one of a kind, is the new face of politics for the past 15 years.

The residents of this small town say that “Stubbs is doing a great job bringing in tourist dollars and making this small town very famous.”

Who is Stubbs the mayor?

He is a 15-year-old infamous feline, who isn’t even aware of his power to change things that previous human mayors have not.Stubbs is growing in popularity, drawing visitors to Talkeetna, who come to specifically meet this honorary mayor.

Due to the residents of this town being unhappy with previous elected human leaders, Stubbs was elected to office as a write in candidate shortly after his birth.  Residents of this town say his popularity rating is higher than previous human competitors. ” He doesn’t raise taxes. We have no sales tax. He doesn’t interfere with business. He’s honest.”

The residents have no problem keeping Stubbs in office. Talkeetna, Alaska, is a historical district, hence mayor is one of a more symbolic office than a functional one.

Approximately 30 – 40 tourists visit each day for the sole purpose of meeting this honorary mayor. He presently has more than 8,ooo Facebook fans on his page, and too many pending “likes” for the social network site to keep up with.

Stubbs seems to take his fame in stride, with his “Mayoral” indulgence being a daily dose of catnip served in water from a wine glass.

The economic growth of Talkeetna, Alaska, is amazing now compared to the days of dishonest and self-serving human politicians.

As I researched this story for historical accuracy, it made me laugh thinking about the numerous “Hollywood” renditions of animals ruling the earth. Of course we know this isn’t realistic world-wide, but I’d vote for my cat Jada any day over a deceitful, licentious human politician.

This video posted on Taboola is short and entertaining, and all about Stubbs and his fellow residents of Talkeetna, the tourists and the loving accolades he is adorned with. Many other such videos have appeared on YouTube, including the one given below. A human politician should only have such adornment.
