Inspire Me Today | December 16 2012
If I could encourage humanity to do anything, it would be for each individual to always stay true to his or herself. Throughout my creative journey, I have learned that everyone may not understand or encourage your visions, but it is not up to them to do so.
I believe that each of us has been given a divine purpose. Once you realize what your talent or gift is, as well as what you feel you were created to achieve, hold on to that. It is your truth, a realization that no person can take away from you unless you give them the power to do so.
I have learned that everyone’s path is different. In life, you will only be truly happy if you do what you love and travel your own course instead of following someone else’s blueprint for your life. In my works, I encourage women, especially young adults, to embrace the person they are and to never feel ashamed or embarrassed about anything they have been through.
Those very experiences are the elements that help to shape the person you are or the person you wish to become. Working through my own experiences, both personal and professional, I have been able to find my voice despite the many obstacles that have been presented to me, including being told that I would never make it.
Be your authentic self. Be true to yourself always. Don’t worry what other people will think. March to the beat of your own unique drum and do the things that make you happy. Magical things happen when you’re following your passions, the things that you really love in life.
I have experienced a life-changing event that almost killed me. I would like to share some lessons I have learned that continue to guide me on my journey through life.
These are the words which I hear since some days now.
Goethe famously wrote “One lives in this world but once…”
Always stay true to who you are, deep down inside. It sounds easy, but there are those around you who will try to change who you are and what you stand for. It cannot be done and moreover, it should not be done.
