Oracle Report First Quarter Moon Phase – Moon in Virgo/Libra

Ruling Mahavidya – Tara

This day comes in a bit challenging. The Sun moves into Gemini later today, joining Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, and the Black Moon. The presence of Jupiter in Gemini expands all of the themes associated with Gemini: relationships, travel, communication, mental processes, speed, just to name a few. The Black Moon in Gemini brings up fears of rejection and disapproval, and being alone.

We will be transitioning into new energy during a window of time between 1:00 pm EDT/ 5:00 pm UTC and 5:00 pm EDT/ 10:00 pm UTC.

It is important to be flexible and open to changes today. Most likely things will not go precisely according to plan, especially before the window of time begins. A change of mind(set) is happening today, so clinging to the old or familiar will make this harder for us. If you are restricting growth and change, it will show up (and perhaps manifest in the body). New opportunities are emerging, and we need to move on to them. If you are experiencing a problem with this, be kind to yourself – not critical. Accept that you need to make a change and things will flow from there.

Dorene Carrel ~ Astrology Report for April 2013

Astro Connections Blog  April 1 2013

April is highlighted by a transformative Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio. It is the first of three eclipses over the next two months. A new moon and several planets still in Aries hold the promise for new beginnings. Later in the month a grand water trine brings new clarity and support.

During the last part of March and early April, a planetary pattern appears called a yod. This pattern is composed of Saturn in Scorpio in sextile to Pluto in Capricorn, with Jupiter in Gemini at the apex. This pattern can expand our knowledge and vision, but requires some adjustment to find the right balance. At this time we may be drawn to information (Jupiter in Gemini) that can take us off on new and intriguing tangents. The challenge is to perceive what is of real value to us and the effort required to incorporate it into our daily lives.

On April 6, Venus will align with Mars in fiery Aries, which strengthens our passions and drives in relationships. New connections can be made at this time, along with a renewal of feeling in existing relationships. A challenging aspect with Neptune brings in a tendency towards deception and confusion. However, this energy can also be used to begin creative and healing activities.

The New Moon occurs on April 10 at 21 Aries. This lunation also represents a time for new beginnings. It is aligned with Mars, Venus and Eris. Aries and ruler Mars have self-oriented, independent qualities, while Venus is focused on creating harmony and equality. Other Aries traits are being assertive, brave, pioneering and competitive. The focus is on learning to balance our active and receptive sides and fulfilling our own needs while being in close relationships. Eris is a newly-discovered dwarf planet with a wildcard theme as it was named for the Greek Goddess of Chaos and Discord. The Sabian symbol for this degree, “A pugilist enters the ring; the release and glorification of social aggressiveness,” suggests the need to balance yin and yang forces.

Oracle Report  Saturday: Full Moon Phase – Moon in Scorpio Sunday: Disseminating Moon Phase – Moon in Sagittarius

The weekend’s energy will predominantly affect relationships. Venus is rapidly approaching Mars while making a square to Pluto, so relationships continue their transformation. With the Sun close to the position of Uranus in the sky, relationships are taking unexpected turns.

We continue to process and release anything that no longer serves the highest and best expression of our lives while we are tying up loose ends and taking care of things that are incomplete. We want to do the best we can with this because the lighter we are when the New Moon energy enters, the better this will be for us.

Henry Seltzer ~ A Sensitive And Feisty First Quarter Moon

Astrograph March 18 2013

Tuesday’s First Quarter Moon is that phase in the lunar cycle when the rubber meets the road – the time when our concrete plans from the New Moon one week prior, and our cherished ideals as well, must measure up to the standards of practicality set for us by a world seemingly indifferent to our original level of enthusiasm. These very issues have become much more poignant lately, with Saturn, and Jupiter also, so prominent in the monthly configurations. In the current skies, restrictive Saturn and enthusiasticJupiter remain within a degree of a quincunx aspect to each other, as Saturntrines Chiron, the Wounded Healer, while Jupiter squares it. There is plenty of attitude in these three planetary archetypes in collision, representing the pain of recognizing where indeed we cannot get what we want coupled with a strong sense of the ideal that we would like to believe is somehow still possible; and this is true on either a personal or a global level.

Then, too, the Spring Equinox of Wednesday, March 20th, is a dramatic one, with this same configuration of outer planet energies and several other strong aspects to take into consideration, as head-strong Mars conjuncts impulsive Uranus in Aries even more closely. We might need to be aware that everyone around us is more impetuous than usual, ourselves included, with accidents and outbursts a distinct possibility. At the time of Tuesday’s Quarter Moon this intense aspect is offset by the Sun with Venus in sensitive and subtle Pisces. In yet another strong symbol of sensitivity,Mercury, fresh out of its retrograde motion, remains in conjunction with dreamy Neptune. It’s a relief in some ways that Mercury has returned to a more outer-directed mode, although since it does not entirely escape its retrograde shadow until April 6th, the Mercury Retrograde period remains in transition for these next few weeks.

Alex Miller ~ March Madness, Celestial Style

Daykeeper Journal March 2013

March of 2013 witnesses a very rare alignment of celestial heavy-hitters, namely an Isosceles Trapezoid. This highly symmetrical pattern keys off the ongoing Uranus/Pluto square, the defining aspect of our times, although the next point at which these two will be exactly squared is not until May. Filling out the pattern are sextile aspects from each end of the square, joined by inconjunct, with two additional inconjuncts forming an internal “X” from the four corners of the trapezoid.

Essentially, this pattern is composed of two interlocked Yods, bound together by a stressful square. Yods, also known as the Finger of Destiny, are formed when two planets in sextile along the base of the Yod are each inconjunct to a third planet at its apex. Yods represent fated or predestined events, situations which cannot be avoided, for good or ill, and reap karmic benefit or punishment.

The planets in question are Uranus in Aries, Jupiter in Gemini, Saturn in Scorpio and Pluto in Capricorn. Often when a trapezoid forms in the sky, a key component is one of the more swiftly-moving inner planets, indicating a fleeting or transient nature, but here, moderate to major slow movers are involved, giving the pattern much more stability and durability than would normally be the case. The first of the six exact aspects that bind and create this pattern occurs February 13, and the last on May 20, but March and early April are dominated by the trapezoid, with four exact alignments within a five-week period, and all planets are within orb of their relative aspects throughout the period.

Several other planets and minor bodies of the solar system will conjoin the principals in this complex pattern, but to begin at the beginning, let’s discuss the various primary energies interwoven into the trapezoid’s structure.

The Uranus/Pluto square forms the backbone of the pattern, and is the longest-lived portion of it, being in effect for almost three years, from June 2012 through March 2015 (for a detailed look at 2013’s exact squares, see my article “Galactic 2013, Part One” in the December 2012 issue of Daykeeper Journal). Essentially, this is a conflict of action (first-quarter square) between the forces of change, challenge and innovation (Uranus), coming from a rebellious, iconoclastic stance bent on individuation (Aries), and those of entrenched power structures (Pluto) coming from a hierarchical, traditionalist stance bent on conformity (Capricorn).

This is never good. That is, it can lead to something very good indeed, but the process is often ugly. Tension, strife, open conflict and turmoil: these are the likely results of this combination. This mix represents the individual versus society, free-form versus structure.

Henry Seltzer ~ The Studied Illusion Of The Aquarius New Moon

Astrograph February 8 2013

The important New Moon that comes along late on Saturday evening is a rather strong one, and sets into prominence two very different signs, Aquarius and Pisces. This is because just as the New Moon lights up the last decant of Aquarius, taking place as it does in the 22nd degree of that sign, there is a strong line-up of four planets in the early part of Pisces, consisting of thoughtful Mercury, action-oriented Mars and Chiron the Wounded Healer, all within 2 degrees. All three are in turn within orb of conjunction with Neptune, the ruler of Pisces and Lord of Illusion.

There is thus an extra zing to the energy of this configuration regarding thinking, action and illusion. And with Chiron involved there is also thrown in the pain of thought or the pain of lost illusion. Pisces is not only about illusion of course but also partakes of an otherworldly numinousity representing that which is beyond the physical plane of earthly existence; which can be confusing to earth-bound mentality. The Pisces-Neptune archetype also translates to a higher ideal and a sense of spiritual realization, transcending the simple and limited rational perspective of ordinary thought, which then – by a process of figure and ground reversal – is seen as the illusion.

Oracle Report |Third Quarter Moon Phase – Moon in Capricorn

Ruling Mahavidya: Matangi

Efforts undertaken in collaboration with others are highlighted today. The energy favors bringing people together to exchange ideas and make things better. But there is a lot of confusion and waywardness, causing barriers. Neptune, Mercury, and Mars are in tight conjunction squaring Jupiter and it is quite a mixture.

It is very important to think before we speak or take action. It’s not a time to make huge decisions, so put it off if you can. There’s a lot of chatter on the line and it is harder to gain clarity. Be patient and take things as they come. Rushing or trying to follow rigid timescales will be frustrating. I’m calling today a “remix” because things are being rearranged, reconfigured, and restored (see yesterday’s report for more information). This can leave us feeling a little out of control, and we are, so the more you can go with it, the easier it will be. It’s a deluge for sure, so be extra kind to yourself and others today.

Dorene Carrel ~ Astrology Report for February 2013

Astro Connections Blog  February 2 2013

February brings the potential for a gentler heart-centered month, which is due to a prevailing watery Pisces theme throughout this period. Mars and Mercury both enter Pisces during the first week, followed by the Sun and Venus later in the month. Neptune, which rules Pisces, will make alignments with all of these planets. There will also be three planetary stations that include Ceres and Saturn, with Mercury turning retrograde in the last week.

We begin the month still under the January Capricorn lunation period, which brought a mental focus of structure, organization and analysis. In this last week, we are in a finishing up and evaluating phase. With all the water energy, we are also taking stock of our feelings and how best to work with them.

On February 4, Ceres in Gemini turns direct. The urge to take care of oneself or a loved one is strong at this time. Mars also aligns with Neptune today, which suggests playing a savior or victim type of role. This combination can also result in deceptive actions or a passive-aggressive type of behavior. On a higher level, this energy can also be used to do healing work or in selfless service.

On February 5-6, Mercury enters Pisces and aligns with Neptune, which increases one’s sensitivity, empathy and compassion. This is an excellent time to connect with a higher source to receive spiritual guidance, or to make connection with other realms and dimensions. It may be best to avoid detailed mental work and focus more on right-brain type of activities, such as working with guided imagery, poetry, artwork, etc. On February 8, Mercury makes the first of two alignments with Mars for energized thinking and communicating. The second alignment is on February 26.

Henry Seltzer ~ The Profound Self-Exploration Of February Astrology

Astrograph | February 1 2013

The Astrology of February features MarsVenusMercurySaturnChiron and Neptune, together with a Pisces line-up of planets that takes place in coordination with the February 9th Aquarius New Moon. All month, from the evening of February 1st on, Mars is in the very interesting and mystical sign of Pisces, where there is definitely a softer and more subtle approach to his feisty and normally outer-directed energy. It’s as though that energy were turned inside and tuned to distant dimensions – more appropriate to poetry and music than to the active and assertive nature bordering on aggression that is normally associated with the fiery Red Planet.

Mercury joins Mars in Pisces around the time of the New Moon, and closely conjoins Chiron as it does so, making a tight triple conjunction, which is additionally within orb of conjunction with Neptune in the early degrees of the sign. Saturn is stationing in the mid-month time frame, in trine with these three planets, and in bi-quintile to revolutionary Uranus, to which the stodgy and conservative energy is antithetical. Revolution is in the air, as it has been for these last few years, and there is also a considerable conservative backlash that is becoming even more intense as this second climactic year in a row – 2013 – gets underway.

Henry Seltzer ~ The Shaky Courage Of The Capricorn New Moon

Astrograph | January 10 2013

The New Moon that comes along mid-day on Friday provides a generous helping of get-up-and-go for forging ahead with our lives at this turning point of the new year, and also brings up both past and future considerations. The Roman God Janus – for which the present month is named – presided over transitions and openings, and had two faces, one looking forward with anticipation; and one, representing a more conservative mode, looking backward. This emblem describes the energy of this New Moon very well. We are now over these next few months entering into the era of Saturn-Uranus-Pluto, a subset of the Uranus-Pluto square aspect that characterizes the entire year of 2013 and several more beyond it. This is a time when it must be recognized that the urge to move forward will be balanced by the equally strong urge to pull back from change.

Oracle Report | Balsamic Moon Phase – Moon in Sagittarius

Venus has moved into Capricorn, joining Pluto, Mercury, and the Sun, and adding more energy to themes of power and control that are associated with Capricorn. But the main aspect that will intensify control issues today is the Sun making a square to Eris, which stationed direct yesterday. Eris is refreshed. The Eris energy abhors anything related to control, so we have strong conflicting energies at work. It’s a push-pull, tug-of-war kind of day. So, knowing that is the set-up, we can avoid becoming entangled in situations where this arises. However, it will be enlightening to watch where this plays out. It may play out closer to home – with the war being an internal one. If you find yourself wrestling with any personal demons (your shadow side), take heart because this is happening at a prime time to do something about it.

Henry Seltzer ~ A Hopeful And Challenging January 2013

Astrograph | January 3 2012

The Astrology of January features VenusJupiterSaturnUranus and PlutoVenus, ruler of the New Year’s Eve chart, is also prominent in the chart of the January 11th Capricorn New Moon in that having entered Capricorn, she squares Uranus and sextiles NeptuneUranus itself is hit by the earlier configuration and again by this month’s New Moon. The emphasis on Venus means that relationships of all kinds are emphasized now, or in another way of saying it, we are all in this together.

Uranus is still of course within orb of its strongly thematic square with Pluto, now in dormancy but heating up in the spring of this year, and still quite strong over the summer months, and indeed over the next few years. The influence lasts until nearly the end of this decade. This important aspect was highlighted at the time of the December 28th Full Moon, and in the chart for the New Year, with the Sun in close conjunction to PlutoSaturn is also involved, for these next few months, by trine and sextile. We are all feeling the tremendous transformational pressure to make necessary changes to the structure of our lives, so that we can flow into a livable state of balance with ourselves, and for the sake of our future.
