Deadlocked and Roadblocked

In the midst of this, tomorrow’s Aquarius Full Moon sets up a conflicting push me-pull you between meeting your urgent personal needs and your commitments to your tribe and community.

Caught between a rock and a hard place- when no matter how hard you try to gain momentum or move forward your wheels keep spinning- it’s tempting to try those old futile strategies of banging your head against a brick wall (fight) or collapsing into victim mode (flight).

A Glimmer of Resolution

As Carl Jung discovered in his journeys deep into the human psyche, the only way to break an impasse between two conflicting forces when the choices feel diametrically opposed to one another is to hold the tension of opposites.

This needs time and patience, plus the ability to sit with ambivalent feelings– knowing that one day you will just know, and the struggle will be over. Jung calls this the Transcendent Third, the reconciliation of opposites. It is not the either/or of the original dilemma. A third perspective or understanding has come in.

As Venus conjuncts Jupiter in Cancer on August 12th, a glimmer of light appears.

By shifting your attention from what you can’t do, can’t get, can’t make happen to giving up the struggle and allowing yourself to stop, rest, and wait with no expectations, the third way will emerge.
