How Birthright Citizenship Is Exploited by Foreign Powers

Why Some Are Calling ‘Birthright’ Citizenship A Security Threat

Why Some Are Calling ‘Birthright’ Citizenship A Security ThreatPaul Crespo – President Trump is right. The Supreme Court must end it. Our great republic deserves “birthright” citizenship provided to those born on U.S. soil of American citizen parents or lawful residents, not illegal aliens, scammers, or foreign visitors.

Restricting birthright citizenship this way allows the United States to prevent people who accidentally have a baby here, or intentionally and illegally come here just to have American-born babies.

It also stops our enemies, especially China, and others, who are increasingly gaming the system to raise a small army of U.S.-born foreigners able to influence U.S. elections or infiltrate the government at the highest levels.

Current birthright citizenship poses serious national security risks with particular concern over espionage and influence operations tied to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Citizenship is a core civic concept in every modern nation, but especially in a country founded by colonial subjects and later populated by immigrants. It also makes you a real part of the American family. A family defined by shared values not blood.

Citizenship conveys special privileges and obligations like voting for our elected leaders, or becoming our elected leaders, and serving in the military.

While not getting into the juridical issues and arguments in favor of the Trump administration’s position, we need to understand that the currently accepted, flawed interpretation, based on an 1898 Supreme Court ruling tied to the 14th Amendment, has opened the floodgates to foreign manipulation, anchor babies, and chain migration mostly from third world countries.

In his recent book, which I earlier reviewed, “The Invisible Coup: How American Elites and Foreign Powers Use Immigration as a Weapon,” author and scholar Peter Schweitzer explains how China, our greatest potential enemy ever, has even “created an industrial model” to exploit this provision.

The CCP is exploiting birthright citizenship by sending Chinese communist elites to have children in the U.S., who are then raised in China and later return to America as citizens in adulthood.

“China began about 13 years ago pushing for this, pushing for the Chinese elite to come to the United States and have children here,” he said on Fox News.

“Our federal government has no idea how many Chinese nationals have done this because we do not collect data [regarding the nationality of one’s parents] on birth certificates.”

In his book, Schweitzer claimed that “approximately 100,000 Chinese have been born in the United States” in each of the last 13 years, calling them “children of the elites.” This could total over one and a half million Chinese communist “Americans.”

Other estimates claim at least hundreds of thousands of U.S.-born babies are being raised in China.

“The parents take them back to China where they are raised in CCP schools… And when they turn 18, which is going to start a couple of years from now… they are going to be able to vote, they are going to get government jobs [even run for the presidency], they will be able to do a whole host of things even though they have absolutely no connection to the United States whatsoever,” Schweizer added.

At age 21 they will also be eligible to petition for green cards for parents and siblings, who can then bring along other family members to live in the U.S. in the form of chain migration.

Many Chinese mothers have used the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), and its capital Saipan, a U.S. territory since 1986 with visa-waiver access for Chinese nationals since 2009 — thanks to Barack Obama — to easily gain American birthright citizenship.

The Chinese call it a “Yankee factory” since it’s a production line for American babies. But it’s not the only one. 1,000 companies offer birth tourism to the Northern Mariana Islands, other U.S. overseas territories and even the U.S. mainland.

Schweizer has also described what he calls the “surrogacy problem” — Chinese elites finding women in the U.S. to give birth to their children on American soil so they will be American citizens, regardless of where they will be raised.

“The Wall Street Journal found, a couple of weeks ago, one Chinese elite that had over 100 children that were born this way. Again, the federal government has no idea of the numbers,” Schweizer said. “We looked at just Southern California, and there we found 107 Chinese-owned surrogacy companies.”

Some wealthy Chinese, such as game executive Xu Bo, have had dozens of American children via this method.

Last May, Guojun Xuan — a 65-year-old Chinese businessman with ties to the CCP — was found to have at least 26 children in his $4.1 million Arcadia, California mansion. He and his partner, Silvia Zhang, had used surrogates across the U.S. to carry most of them.

Police are still investigating the case and say the couple could face charges of child abuse and neglect based on video footage found in their house.

Our current warped birthright citizenship concept is a national security nightmare. It must be ended.
