The theme for February is “Discernment”

Lena Stevens – Discernment is one of the themes for the year and it begins to influence us this month with an invitation to be careful what we ask for, careful about who and what we believe, to whom and what we listen to, where we put our energy, and to be most careful and discerning about what we think, say and do.

Our choices this month will carry weight as there are influences that support expansion, creativity and abundance. It will be important to rely on intuition and what is in the heart when making important decisions and recognizing what is in the process of change.

This month in general will be more easeful than the last few as we settle in to the Chinese year of the snake, surrender our need for struggle and hardship, and embrace more creativity and flow into our lives.

Many of us will welcome more clarity and action around issues, projects and situations that have felt sluggish and ponderous in the past months. By the end of February we all should be well on our way to feeling a renewed sense of inspiration, ease and forward movement.

The key is discernment. To be discerning is to be questioning and particular about your energy, the people around you, and what motivates you. Your emotional intuition will be the best guide for you especially when there is confusion about whose motivation is driving an intention. There is an opportunity this month to extricate yourself from past attachments and the expectations of others as you gain clarity about your own path.

The energy can be a bit unsettled as the chaos factor of the artisan creativity tests the theme of reinvention this year. You may also feel the destructive side of creativity rearing its head at times. Instead of going into fear or panic, look within to see what needs to be reinvented in yourself. This usually begins with completing something old in order to make room for something new.

Using discernment, be discriminating about how you intend to live your life, what works for you and what does not. If you feel pulled into the swirl of negative reactions, raise your vibration through a focus on beauty and be inspired by your own creativity.

You Personally

This is a powerful month of personal growth, creativity and inspiration. You may have to go through some challenging initiations to get there as you gain clarity about your path, however the rewards, if you pay attention and follow your intuition, will be great.

There is a sense of relief as the energy begins to move and there is more flow around some of your intentions that have been marinating for a while. If they are true to your path, they will gain momentum and you will see progress and expansion. If they are not, you will have the opportunity to change course based on that clarity.

Discernment will midwife you through the process of eliminating beliefs, thoughts, habits, reactions, people, routines, stuff, old dreams, and other attachments so you can be free to explore new possibilities for yourself.

If something happens this month to shake up your stability, see it as a good medicine to look within and to either heal something from the past or to make a change that will reset you in a good way.
