Elizabeth Lee Vliet, M.D. – What a week! I could hardly get through my patient days without some stunning new revelation about the latest announcement from the Trump team, Doge, and events unfolding overseas. It felt like we were experiencing a lifetime of urgently needed course corrections for an America that had gone off the rails…all in one week!

In my work in medicine and ministry, faith and health over the last four years, I had been trying to make sense of an America that felt like a totalitarian state similar to what I experienced in my trips to the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe Iron Curtain countries in the 1970s. It was hard to keep focused on hope when all felt so dire and never-ending, and worsening by the day.

But suddenly in February 2025, there is hope, and daily evidence of major changes for the good – toward an America I remember from childhood and from the first Trump administration – when it felt like we were getting back on course and following our core principles and Constitutional framework. God heard our prayers, and His hand is guiding us away from the edge of the abyss toward which were headed under the last administration and globalist tyrants.

I want to again focus on a few highlights think bring the most far-reaching changes to expose deception, fraudulent use of taxpayer money, getting rid of bloat and unnecessary programs and people in our out-of-control federal government, eliminating weaponized government, and reversing the many violations of our core freedoms under the last administration.

In positive developments internationally:

♦ Along with a tornado of changes keeping the Deep State at home in disarray, the Trump Team has been disrupting the status quo in Europe and plowing up the ground controlled by Europe’s wealthy elites who thought they were immune to losing control. It is a joy to see!

♦ President Trump took the reins himself to call President Putin directly to begin negotiations to end the Russian-Ukraine war, bypassing NATO leaders, to their shock. Then Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth informed NATO leaders that 1) Ukraine would NOT be entering NATO and the USA would NOT be sending ground troops to Ukraine. Punch number two.

♦ Vice President J. D. Vance delivered the knockout punch when he told a stunned audience at the Munich Security Conference that basically your American-borne military protection is over, we aren’t funding your proxy wars, and WE consider your leaders a bigger threat to freedom of speech and democracy than Russia! WOW! Europe’s leaders are still reeling. I urge our readers to listen to the entire hard-hitting speech by Vice President Vance. ♦ President Trump surprised the world by announcing reciprocal tariffs instead of set tariffs as expected. This means a tariff on imports to our country equal to whatever tariff another country levies on American goods coming into their country. Seems only fair. A brilliant move! And one that left the rest of the world sputtering – and will likely shortly lead to tariff reductions and lower prices.

There have been too many positive developments at home this week to list them all – but the biggest from my standpoint as a physician is the confirmation of RFK Jr as Secretary of Health and Human Services. THAT is HUGE. I see it potentially a sea change in delivery of medical and health-related services in America – revolutionary change possible for the first time in my career in medicine!

Then in another major success for taxpayers, there was this announcement!

My head is spinning with the rapid pace of changes I have wanted to see for YEARS! I have a renewed sense of energy, enthusiasm, and optimism for the awakening and reformation unfolding. I see the budding of a government answering to the people it is intended to serve, not just those seeking to gorge themselves on taxpayer dollars for their own benefit.

I continue to pray that God will protect and keep President Trump, his family, his team and all of our new Cabinet and other government officials under His protection and guide all of us to come together in prayer to support our new Administration and heal our land from the evil forces have sought to destroy our God-given freedom.
