Jordyn M. – The Biden White House came out in opposition of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, sparking backlash online including from Elon Musk.

Musk sharply criticized the administration’s stance because the bill is designed to prevent illegal immigrants and non-citizens from voting in federal elections.

“The goal all along has been to import as many illegal voters as possible,” the billionaire wrote on X in response to a post from House Speaker Mike Johnson.

In the post Musk was responding to, Johnson rhetorically asked, “Why are Democrats so adamantly against ensuring only American citizens vote in our elections?”

He then answered by writing, “They want to turn illegal aliens into voters.”

“We must pass the SAVE Act to prevent this,” he continued, linking to a Fox News article about the matter.

In a subsequent post from Sunday, Musk dubbed anyone who opposes the SAVE Act as “traitors.”

“What is the penalty for traitors again?” he then asked, suggesting they should be sentenced to death or imprisoned for a minimum of five years, fined at least $10,000 and prohibited from ever holding office in the U.S., per the Constitution.

In the article Fox’s Emma Colton penned, she explained that the SAVE Act would “require states to obtain proof of citizenship from voters for federal elections, as well as purge noncitizens from voter rolls.”

Democratic leadership, however, is urging its House Members to vote against the bill.

The office of House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-Mass) explained this position by writing, “House Republicans continue to irresponsibly call into question the credibility of our elections.”

“Despite numerous recounts, challenges in court, and deep-dives by conservative think-tanks, there has been zero evidence of the widespread fraud that this bill purports to target,” the statement continued.

“It is already illegal under current law for noncitizens to register to vote or to vote in federal elections.”

White House officials echoed this sentiment in its statement released on Monday that declared, “The Administration strongly opposes HR 8281.”

“It is already illegal for noncitizens to vote in Federal elections–it is a Federal crime punishable by prison and fines,” it said.

Musk is one voice who has remained vocal on the topic; frequently sharing his concerns for illegal immigrants voting in America’s election.

He has routinely described the plot as one he believes Democrats are well aware of.

Musk has also been a vocal critic of Biden and his policies throughout the years.

TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk is another reliably outspoken critic on the topic of illegals voting in American elections, calling the Biden administration’s push back against the SAVE Act “an existential threat to America.”

“[Musk] is right, anyone who is against the SAVE Act, which requires proof of citizenship to vote, is a traitor to America,” Kirk posted.

“What other possible explanation is there besides Democrats want illegals to vote?”

“Democrats and Joe Biden are an existential threat to America.”

Back in April the account by the name of End Wokeness sounded the alarm over the number of voters registering without a photo ID in three swing states.

The account highlighted the “skyrocketing” figures in Arizona, Texas, and Pennsylvania since the start of 2024, citing publicly available data.
