A Cancer New Moon of Dire Necessity and the Renewal of Faith
Henry Seltzer – The New Moon that arrives in Cancer on the early morning of Tuesday, June 25th, later morning for the east coast and Europe, is another powerful lunation, at 4° of the sign. This lunation follows in the wake of the previous and quite strong Gemini New Moon from the end of the previous month, and the recent and extremely potent Cancer Solstice of June 20th, which was filled with outer planet combinations.
This time, too, the stars feature a wild and potentially difficult set of outer planets in combination with the Sun, Moon, and Mars, with also however a sense of respite in the highlighted presence of the softer and more optimistic presence of Jupiter in early Cancer. Continue reading →
Tanaaz – The Moon feels most at home in the sign of Cancer, so as we begin this new lunar cycle with the Cancer New Moon on June 25th, we are reminded to come home to ourselves, we are reminded to find comfort and a feeling of security from within.
Using the powers of the Cancer New Moon, we can turn our inner world into a place that feels safe. No matter what is going on for us in our outside world. No matter the struggles or heartaches we face, this New Moon offers us the gift of being able to feel safe and secure. Continue reading →

Balsamic Moon in Cancer/Leo 9:12 pm ET/01:12 am UT: release; clear; dream
Skill: reconsider things from the perspective of increasing inner and outer strength
Aspect of the Aeon Sophia (Wisdom): Dhumavati, Goddess Who Sorts and Winnows
Aspect of the Aeon Thelete (Will/Freewill): Kathe, God of the South
True Alignments: inner guidance, moving on, releasing self from stress, creating art, true to self, reassured by signs from Nature (keep Ted Andrews’ Animal Speak handy — the Pocket Guide is a must-have, in my opinion), care, transitions (this is very strong today), rewards, paths opening, emerging from darkness
Catalysts for Change: feeling lost, selfishness, contempt, impulsivity (slow down), distortions, potential for false flags related to induced/engineered racism, uninspired/disappointed, lack of self-value, feeling alone (not here – this is a happy place for wise owls), immature/arrested development, anger, transience
Sabian Symbol for the Solar-Lunar Month: “a very old man facing a vast dark space to the northeast” (facing things, facing facts, about face, face off)
Sabian Symbol for the Solar-Lunar Year: “the magic carpet of Oriental imagery” (transcending the past, transcending the old paradigm)
Good day, wise owls! Today is the last day of this lunar month, a lunar month where we have faced much darkness in the world. The energetic of “vast dark spaces” dissolves today within the mists of the Balsamic Moon phase. By the natural cycles of time (based on the Earth, Sun, and Moon), Balsamic phase is the natural time of releasing what we no longer wish to “carry” with us into the next lunar cycle.
Today’s energy has poignancy. The point or reason underlying situations, circumstances, and conditions that happen today is to build inner and outer strength.
Henry Seltzer – The Cancer New Moon of early Monday morning is another in the series of potent lunations that we have been seeing, in part due to the extreme contrast of Saturn-Neptune in square, and aspected by the Sun and Moon. Then, as well, both Uranus and Pluto are stimulated, implying that there is plenty of transformational pressure upon us as we head into what is sure to be an intense, divisive, and interesting summer period.
With Sun, Moon, Mercury and Venus all in Cancer, this is a highly emotional time, now and setting the tone for the remainder of this thirty-day cycle, a period when everyone’s feelings are right there, “on their sleeve,” and in their facial expressions. Moreover, in this New Moon configuration a Grand Trine exists between Venus, Mars, and Chiron, the Wounded Healer, all in different Water signs, and this Grand Trine aspect pattern repeats throughout the month with slightly different players, most notably on Monday, July 11th and on Tuesday, July 19th with the Full Moon.
