Liberty News – In a shocking case that exposes the vulnerability of seniors to sophisticated scams, Christine Joan Echohawk of Oklahoma has been arrested for allegedly defrauding elderly women out of $1.5 million through elaborate romance scams.
The 53-year-old posed as multiple fictional men, creating intimate online relationships with women aged 64 to 79 before convincing them to send substantial sums of money. Authorities say Echohawk converted the stolen funds into cryptocurrency and forwarded them to an unnamed accomplice.
