My Enemy, My Brother

Ann Shin – When I first met Zahed Haftlang and Najah Aboud in Vancouver back in 2012, they seemed like any other Middle Eastern immigrants settling into new lives: Zahed was working as a mechanic, while Najah ran a small furniture moving company. But when I sat down with them over cups of mint tea, their story moved me to tears. I’ve been helping them tell it ever since. Najah’s moving company helped many of the local residents relocate at the time.

Zahed Haftlang was only 13 when he joined Iran’s Basij force to fight in the Iran-Iraq War in the 1980s. The conflict was among the most brutal of the 20th century – one wrought with chemical weapons, ballistic missiles and cadres of child soldiers. After a deadly battle, Zahed found an enemy Iraqi soldier critically injured in a bunker and committed an astonishing act of mercy. It would change the path of both their lives for decades to come. (Parts of their story in this documentary are told through recreations.)

Two Ridiculously Easy Ways to Make Homemade Yogurt

yogurtDaisy Luther – Yogurt is full of good bacteria, and it’s delicious too!  But those little six-packs touting “active cultures” are also filled with other ingredients that you probably don’t want to add to your diet if the purpose of eating yogurt is good health.

Here are the ingredients in Yoplait’s plain yogurt:

Cultured Pasteurized Grade A Nonfat Milk. Contains Less Than 2% of: Corn Starch, Kosher Gelatin, Pectin. Made With Active Yogurt Cultures Including L. Acidophilus.

Corn starch and pectin are nearly always made from GMOs, so if you are trying to avoid genetically modified food, you probably don’t want to eat this yogurt. Yoplait does not promote the fact that they use rBGH-free milk, so it’s a good bet the milk is loaded with hormones. Since there are no requirements to tell us about GMOs and hormones on the labels, we have to go with the most likely scenarios.

Flavored yogurt is even worse. Here are the ingredients in Activia yogurt:

 Cultured Grade A Non Fat Milk, Strawberries, Water,Modified Food Starch, Contains Less than 1% of Inulin, Acacia Gum,Modified Corn Starch, Kosher Gelatin, Pectin, Natural Flavor, Carmine(for Color), Sodium Citrate, Malic Acid, Sucralose, Calcium Lactate,Xanthan Gum, Acesulfame Potassium.

This particular flavored yogurt contains probable GMOs, chemical additives,  probable rBGH-tainted milk, and artificial sweeteners. Continue reading →

Is Washington Coming To Its Senses?

washingtonPaul Craig Roberts – There is much speculation about US Secretary of State John Kerry’s rush visit to Russia in the wake of Russia’s successful Victory Day celebration on May 9. On May 11, Kerry, who was snubbing Russia on the 9th, was on his way to Russia, and Putin consented to see him on May 12.

As time passes we will find out why Kerry was snubbing Putin on May 9 and 3 days later was criticizing Washington’s puppet regime in Ukraine. For what is known at this time, a possible explanation is that Washington is coming to its senses.

If you watched the 1 hour 20 minute video of the Victory Day Parade, you are aware that the celebration sent a powerful message. Russia is a first class military power, and Russia is backed by China and India, whose soldiers marched with Russia’s in the parade.

So, while the increasingly irrelevant West, absorbed in its own self-importance, snubbed
the celebration of the victory that the Red Army gave them over Hitler, the three largest countries in the world were present united. Russia has the largest land mass, and China and India, also large land masses, have the world’s largest populations.

The celebration in Moscow made it clear that Washington has failed miserably to isolate Russia. What Washington has done is to make the BRICS more unified.

With the President of China sitting at the right hand of Putin, the celebration also made it completely clear even to the morons in the Obama regime that Washington is no longer the Uni-power.

Consider now the impact on Washington’s vassal states in Europe, the crux of the American Empire. Europeans are aware that two of the most powerful military states in history did not survive their invasions of Russia. Napoleon lost the Grande Army in Russia, and Hitler lost the Wehrmacht in Russia. It has dawned on Europeans that they are being shoved into conflict with Russia in the interest of Washington’s claim to be the World Hegemon. Europeans are accustomed to obey Washington, but when it came to being forced into conflict with Russia, Europeans began to express dissent. Signs of an independent European foreign policy appeared with Merkel and Hollande’s meeting with Putin to resolve the Ukrainian crisis orchestrated by Washington. Continue reading →

George Stephanopoulis Outed As Clinton Crime Family Operative

Has financial ties just like Monsanto, ExxonMobil and the Bill Gates Foundation

StephanopoulisMike Adams – Mainstream media news anchors just can’t help lying all the time, it seems. Mere months after NBC News anchor Brian Williams was outed for utterly fabricating a long list of sensational news stories, ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulis has been exposed as a Clinton crime family operative who donated $50,000 to the Clinton Foundation and then deliberately withheld that information from his employer and ABC News viewers, reports Politico.

The $50,000 donation was only disclosed after The Free Beacon inquired about Clinton Foundation records. Realizing he couldn’t hide it forever, Stephanopoulis then disclosed the donation to Politico’s Dylan Byers.

The Clinton Foundation is the same crime family slush fund that has been financially supported by Monsanto, the Bill Gates Foundation (for vaccines), and the world’s most evil corporations such as ExxonMobil and Goldman Sachs. The Clinton Foundation also received strategic donations of millions of dollars from foreign governments, even as Hillary Clinton made key decisions in their favor as Secretary of State. Some of those decisions involved giving Russia new access to uranium resources used to build nuclear weapons.

Stephanopoulis incessantly pretends to be a journalist, not a political operative, and he conducts interviews posing as a journalist. His financial ties to the Clinton crime family were never disclosed, even as he conducted interviews with people like Peter Schweizer, author of the explosive new book, “Clinton Cash.”

After getting caught, George Stephanopoulis apologized with yet another big lie, claiming he was donating to “AIDS prevention and deforestation [causes].” That’s the nobody-believes-you cover story, of course, but even if that were true, the Clinton Foundation only spends 10 cents on the dollar for actual programs (charity grants) in some years.
