The Russia Hacking Fiasco: No Evidence Required

“So far, no single piece of evidence has been made public proving that the Trump campaign joined with Russia to steal the US presidency – nothing….Stop to let that thought reverberate for a moment.” — Paul Wood, BBC News, Washington, March 30, 2017

russiaMike Whitney – Here’s what bugs me about the Russia hacking story: Why would the media, whose credibility is already at its lowest point ever, go after Trump when they had no facts to back them up?

Why?

Do the media bosses really think that if they set their hair on fire and run around yelling, “The Russians did it, the Russians did it”, the American people will sheepishly nod in agreement?

And what do they think the Russians actually did?

Why they meddled in our elections, the media tells us.

Okay, but how?

Russia hackers stole damaging emails from the Democrats at the DNC, they tell us.

Alright, but how did that effect the elections?

Well– according to a report on the BBC– Continue reading

So What If It Was the Russians

russiansPaul Rosenberg – This entire episode is a warning of just how rancid the American over-class has become. Is there no one left in the American elite who has some dignity, some class, some measure of perspective? Have they all descended to the level of drunken brawlers?

American elites are rushing to create a constitutional crisis as I write this, building up an immense head of steam (there was an 8,000 word article in the NY Times, fer goodness’ sake), and all for what?

Stop and think for a moment: The Russians allegedly “intervened” in a US election. But what is it they are supposed to have done?

They spilled the truth.

Yup, that was their unfathomable crime… revealing the truth. That’s not exactly a problem, is it? And if it is, what does that say about the aforementioned American overlords? Continue reading

Top US Spy Agency: CIA Can’t Prove Intent Over Russia Hacking

ODNI
Who are people like Clapper serving while  in top government positions?

Leah Barkoukis – The Office of the Director of National Intelligence is not on the same page as the CIA over the agency’s assessment about Russia’s interference in the presidential election, according to a report in Reuters.

Sources told Reuters that while ODNI, which is headed by James Clapper, is not disputing the agency’s analysis that Russia’s hacking was intended to sway the election in President-elect Trump’s favor, they are not supporting that assessment because there’s no conclusive evidence.

“ODNI is not arguing that the agency (CIA) is wrong, only that they can’t prove intent,” one of the three U.S. officials told Reuters. “Of course they can’t, absent agents in on the decision-making in Moscow.”

The FBI is also not supporting the CIA’s assessment for the same reason.   Continue reading
