It’s one of those typically curt, but head spinning press releases from India’s Defence Research Wing. For those wanting an analogy, think of it as India’s version of the Diabolically Apocalyptic Research Projects Agency, or DARPA.(Ok, it may not be exactly DARPA, but you get the idea.) But back to the article:  it’s not very long, but it manages to say a lot. And what it manages to say is this:

Now, you might have noticed that Chandrayaan-2 will be India’s second satellite mission to the Moon, and its first to incorporate a soft lander and an automated rover. Coincidentally, India is not saying (at least, as far as I know) where it plans to land it nor what its rover will be roving around looking for, but I suspect that we all know. It is India, after all, whose lore contains the occasional “odd little thing” like statements to the effect that “the old Moon broke,” and various other tantalizing suggestions.

GMO Geopolitics Update: Mon(ster)Santo Loses Patent Rights In India

gmoJoseph P Farrell – Ms. M.W. spotted this one and, in my estimation, it could be a very significant development in the emergence of GMO geopolitics. The US “agribusiness” giant Mon(ster)santo has lost a crucial decision in India; it cannot patent its GMO seeds in that country. But there’s more:

Monsanto loses right to patent seeds

Here’s the crucial parts of the story:

Opponents of genetically modified crops received a boost when the Delhi High Court upheld the Indian Patent Act, which states that seeds and life forms cannot be patented, and the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights Act, 2001 (PPV&FR Act), which biotechnology multinationals have tried to undermine, and ruled that key plant genetic material cannot be patented. The court was deciding a dispute between Monsanto and Nuziveedu Seeds Ltd, Prabhat Agri Biotech Ltd and Pravardhan Seeds Private Ltd, over interpretation of law, especially Section 3(j) of the Indian Patent Act and applicability of PPV&FR Act for transgenic plants. Hillary Clinton Disparages Trump Voters In India

clintonThe Political Insider – It’s been well over a year since Hillary Clinton lost to Donald Trump, and still she continues to disparage American voters – both at home and abroad.

Clinton attended the India Today Conclave in Mumbai on Saturday, where she offered her ever-astute insight into the 2016 election. According to Clinton, America “didn’t deserve Trump” – but voters weren’t “sophisticated” enough to choose her over him.

That’s just a PC way of calling voters dumb, which is exactly what Clinton did all throughout her campaign. And yet she wonders why Americans didn’t vote for her. How delusional can one person be?
