The Real Motive for Jan. 6

The Real Motive for Jan. 6George Shuster – Everyone who watches crime dramas such as CSI, NCIS, Castle, or Bones, knows that every episode focuses on the issue of Motive. The reason is obvious. Correctly assessing Motive an important consideration in figuring out who has committed what crime.

Why then has the issue of Motive on January 6 been swept off the stage of public discourse?

To many, asking such a question may appear provocative, even uninformed. After all, Democrats have repeatedly told us the Motive for January 6: Trump, according to them, wanted to foment an “insurrection.” Yet if that Motive were really so obvious, why has it been necessary for the anti-Trumpers to repeat it so relentlessly, literally many times every day? I Feel the Earth Move Under my Feet

Deanna I Feel the Earth Move Under my FeetChadwell – This has been happening with alarming frequency: unprecedented, unlawful, horrifying events.  The 2020 election left me staggered. I knew the “reality” of the Biden “win” wasn’t even remotely real and yet there it was. I started pinning my hopes — thin as they were — on brave and desperate lawsuits, but little by little we realized that the courts weren’t going to solve this one. So we started looking to the certification process on January 6th of 2021. Surely sanity would return then.

But the events of that day shook all rational people to their core. The thinking right had no reason to break into the capitol — the process, if allowed to play out, could very well have put a halt to the Big Steal. But somebody thought the onslaught was worth it, somebody not connected to the conservative movement, and those somebodies have been milking that day ever since. Continue reading

Liz Cheney’s Agony

Cheney’s AgonyRichard McDonough – When I was an undergraduate in the late 1960s, I underwent a kind of transformative experience during a classroom debate with another student that I believed I was clearly winning when the philosophy professor corrected me.  He reminded me that when engaged in a philosophical debate, as opposed to the 9th grade Debating Challenge, the point is not simply to vanquish one’s opponent but to find the truth.

In order to do the former one may use any means fair or foul to destroy the opponent. For the latter one must do the exact opposite and represent one’s opponent’s position in the strongest terms possible. One represents the opponent’s position as charitably as possible, and only then attempts to refute that stronger position. Continue reading

D.C. Lawyer of the Year: Natasha Taylor-Smith

D.C. Lawyer of the Year: Natasha Taylor-Smith By Clarice FeldmanClarice Feldman – I have been reading with horror Julie Kelley’s day-to-day description of the treatment afforded some 850 people arrested in D.C. for conduct on January 6 and the awful legal representation and judicial treatment they have received.  Many have been held in horrible prison conditions for over a year, denied bail and an opportunity to have their cases heard outside this venue where the jurors will never grant them a fair trial.

None of the big law firms in town which puff up their public service donating time — for example, to defend Guantanamo Bay detainees — have to my knowledge volunteered to help these people. So it was a welcome surprise to see one young public defender do her job.

FBI Withholds Video Evidence Of DNC Pipe Bomber [Video]

FBI Withholds Video Evidence That Identifies DNC Pipe BomberAlexandra Bruce – Darren Beattie at Revolver.News joins Steve Bannon to say that the FBI is withholding video evidence that clearly identifies the J6 Pipe Bomber of the DNC.

On the evening of January 5th, pipe bombs, both of which failed to explode were placed near both DNC and RNC headquarters.

Surveillance cameras surrounding the DNC captured extensive footage of a hooded suspect walking around the complex and actually placing it next to a park bench on the property. Continue reading
