Sarah C. Corriher ~ How To Cure Cavities

Dr. Weston Price

While traveling to some of the most remote regions and cultures of the world, Dr. Weston A. Price discovered that some groups which had no access to traditional medicine had extremely low incidences of cavities. He discovered that the cultures which consumed foods that were high in fats and minerals had the best dental health. Some of those groups did not even brush their teeth.

When people are malnourished, dental problems are often the first indicator. Most people from the Western world believe that teeth naturally decay with age, so everyone will inevitably get cavities. Popular consensus is that teeth self-destruct. However, a person’s diet primarily determines his dental health. The myth that people have no control over the deterioration of the teeth is one of the justifications for the fluoridation of water supplies, because it is tacitly contended that human teeth disintegrate without help from the chemical industry. In truth, cavities and dental malformations occur as a result of malnutrition, which is actually exaggerated by chemicals, such as pharmaceuticals and fluoride. Western foods are not only deficient in vitamins and minerals, but they also contain chemicals which impair the utilization of nutrients in the body. Tooth decay is more common in pregnant and nursing women, because these women have greater nutritional needs.

Fluoride, in particular, pulls calcium and phosphorus into areas of the body that they would not normally travel, such as the pineal gland and the arteries, so these minerals are not properly used for strengthening the bones. Teeth too are bones. Fluoride can prevent the healing of cavities, because it disrupts the proper mineral usage of the human body. Continue reading

Michael Ravensthorpe ~ Walnuts: The Perfect Food For Our Brains

NaturalNews  May 1 2014

walnutsWalnuts are the large, single-seeded fruits of the walnut tree. Though different species of walnut exist, the English walnut, which originated in Persia, remains the most popular species. In fact, virtually all of today’s commercially-produced walnuts are either English walnuts or hybrids thereof. Other species of walnut, such as the black walnut, are seldom cultivated due to their comparatively tough shells and poor hulling qualities.

Walnuts are highly nutritious, and their health benefits have been well-known in China and India for centuries. They are just as revered in the West, however, and a large number of studies confirm the allegations of the ancient healing systems.

Packed with brain-boosting fats

Walnuts are rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, particularly the plant-based omega-3 fat, alpha-linolenic acid. These beneficial fats, which are the same fats that comprise our brains and nervous systems, give walnuts considerable brain-boosting properties. For example, a study published in Plant Foods for Human Nutrition in November 2011 discovered that rats that were fed walnuts for 28 days demonstrated a “significant improvement in learning and memory” compared to the control group. A second study, published two years later in Nutritional Neuroscience, showed that the fatty acids in walnut extracts could prevent age-related inflammation and oxidative stress in the brain’s hippocampal cells.

Tess Pennington ~ Juice For A Natural Energy Boost

ReadyNutrition  April 29 2014

GreenDropDrinkHealthI constantly struggle with having enough energy to get everything done. Instead of loading myself up with coffee all day, I am taking a healthier approach and started giving my body what it really needs – natural vitamins and nutrients.

Juicing is a great way to add essential nutrients to the body and in return, I get a much needed boost of energy. My kids have lovingly dubbed this juice the “Green Drop Drink” after one of their favorite movies. If you don’t have any kale or spinach, you can add the remaining ingredients and make a delicious yellow version of this beverage.

Go for the organic fruits and vegetables when juicing as it helps your body detoxify more efficiently. As well, this is a great juice to help detox from the holidays or from heavy metals and environment pollutants, and also gives you an added energy boost thanks to the ginger. Here are some other ways your health benefits from this juice: Continue reading
