Choosing The Past Or The Future

The Mystic Tourist | May 28 2012

As renewal makes another attempt to get my attention and I consider inventing myself again, the shards, bits and pieces of the life I have broken against the wall I call the future, lie scattered about. When life falls apart it is along the same familiar lines and then I wonder to fit it back together, a little differently, letting some of the pieces live in the past.

I know the future is for remembering and I can only carry the past into it when I make it the same thing.

If ever we are stuck it is only because the past we carry is not the future we remember. As I look at my life, from wherever I stand, I see what lies before me, whichever way I turn it is the future that I see. Do I choose the promise of the future or stay mired in the false familiarity of bits and pieces selected from my past?

The wall against which I have broken my life is just the stuff from my past that will not fit in my future. Will I climb that mountain and put it behind me? Will I make my claim and bring this future, familiar and known, into the past making it familiar and known? The echo of my past, the most enduring loudest things I did there beg me to let them go and in so doing remind me of their reality enticing their renewal. The new me, the future I remember, awaits my choice.

The Past is Your Light Map

Enlightening Life | May 7 2012

EnergyArchangel Uriel ~ The love and the light that is required on your ascension journey is reflected in your reality in each moment. You cannot love in the past for that moment is gone. You cannot love in the future because its details have not yet been created and every aspect of the future depends on what you do in each present moment. If you want the future to be joyful, fulfilling, loving, and abundant you must create that energy in this moment. Do not be distracted by what the moment appears to be, its outcome is calling you to send light, to shift its energy by allowing your desires to be your focus, acknowledging what you have created and raising its frequency by sending love and light to its darkest aspects.

Each thing you are aware of and judge is part of the past, and although it appears to be real, present, and permanent, it is only an echo of your most recent manifestation. When you can perceive a result you are looking at the past. When you know an outcome, you are experiencing the result of a manifestation that has already been created. It is through your focus on creation and manifestation in the present moment, being mindful of the past as a map which indicates where you need to focus your light, you heal the past from the present moment and create the future at a higher vibration. If you perceive your reality to lack love, peace, joy and abundance you are aware of where your love and light are needed to create a different outcome in the next present moment. Rather than judge an outcome as good or bad, be aware of where you can send more light, be more empowered, and connect with your inner guidance to create a different outcome.

Bask In Your Own Greatness

The Morning Blessing | April 11 2012

When was the last time you celebrated yourself? When was the last time you toasted to all that you have accomplished? Do you say, “Thank you” or “Alright, you did it!” to yourself on a regular basis? This is not a small thing to be taken lightly. All the books say to celebrate your accomplishments, but they don’t say this it essential to feeling joy and success. When we don’t celebrate our success we are letting it die. When it dies it takes a small piece of us with it. Yes, I mean when we don’t say, “You go girl!” or “Great job!” it is like we are ignoring our progress, our work and our efforts. When we ignore them, it’s like they didn’t happen. It’s like our efforts have gone unnoticed.

Often, instead of giving ourselves credit, we look for validation outside. We want it from our clients, parents, teachers, spouses and even our children. We feel like they don’t appreciate us if they don’t value our accomplishments. In Science of Mind we learn to acknowledge ourselves so I say whenever you are looking for outside validation, take it as an opportunity to give it to yourself instead.

Whatever you wish “they” were saying, say it to yourself!  Just think, you can tell yourself . . . good job, you’re brilliant, or I would hire you in an instant and pay you lots of money! Wouldn’t it be powerful to give ourselves the validation we seek outside? Hey, we talk to ourselves all the time, but often the words are not validating or loving. It is a skill you already have and use for others. Don’t you think it’s time you use it for your own good and not evil!

Inspire Me Today

Out beyond ideas of right doing and wrong doing, there is a field: I’ll meet you there. ~ Rumi

If today were my last day on Earth and I could share 500 words of brilliance with the world, here are the important things I’d want to pass along to others…

There is a quote by the mystic poet Rumi that goes, “Out beyond ideas of right doing and wrong doing, there is a field: I’ll meet you there.”

I am interested in that field. I am interested in the freedom of that open space. I want to breathe that oxygen. In it there is no fear or shame or guilt or the word “should.” It simply opens its spaciousness to us. Calls forth the possibility of what we can create there.

What do you create? I don’t mean the nouns of your life. I create books, for instance. Those are my “nouns.” But behind that, I create the intention to live at the intersection of heart and mind and craft that is writing. It’s the intention behind our thoughts and behavior and achievements which guides us.

What is your intention? Is your intention to be happy? As much as we are quick to say, “Of course I want to be happy,” I find that we tend to cling to our pain. That we dwell in the victim stance. And that we are daunted by Rumi’s field of freedom. Suffering becomes, in so many cases, our normal.

Updating Your Soul’s Journey ~ What you came here to do has probably changed

First, A Note On Psychic Learning

For most people psychic gifts need to be relearned in each lifetime. The world is vibrationally distinct in each lifetime and so is your physical body. It is only natural that you would have to relearn how to be energetically in relationship to yourself and to the world. This is particularly true about how we relate to our soul’s journey and foreknowing future aspects of it.

Whatever your soul planned to do here before you incarnated on Earth has probably changed. Especially if you incarnated before 1972. Humanity changed. The planet changed. Whatever your soul decided to do here on Earth before you incarnated has probably changed.

During the past fifty or so hears there have been multiple shifts in our reality that our souls did not anticipate. Depending on when in our linear time line your soul decided upon this lifetime’s goals and challenges, you may be experiencing yourself as disconnected from your own life. Isolation is one symptom I commonly hear from clients, as well as the sensation of floating away from the physical life you are living. From my experience, this simply means that what your mind may think is your soul’s journey is no longer your soul’s journey.

Most of us have been told by someone at some point either what our soul’s journey is, or have figured it out for ourselves. For me, I feel that no one can fully understand or know the journey of anyone’s soul. Not even our own. But we can have senses about what we are drawn to do in this lifetime, and how we are to do it.

Because of the dramatic changes that have already taken place and the increasing pace of future changes, I find it useful to revisit the trajectory of the journey of one’s soul on a regular basis.

The soul’s journey is more apt, at this point in time, to be revealed first to your body, then to your heart, and finally to your brain. Once entered into, your new soul’s journey will continue to weave and shift throughout your lifetime. Learning how to monitor and adapt to changes in your soul’s journey is most useful.

As you explore your journey, it is your mind that is able to look backwards and tell you where you have been. It is the heart and body that can look into the present moment and tell you where you are. Together, the mind, heart and body can chart a potential path for your future. But this is usually the near future, as your external world continues to shift and change.
