The main theme for November is “Pressure”

pressureLena Stevens – We feel pressured from the inside and pressured from the outside. The themes of Release and Reinvent are not finished with us and now we have the added pressure to show up, make those hard choices and follow through with our commitments. We could also say this month is full of tension. Under pressure, the container either expands or the pressure deflates.

This month is all about finding balance, showing what we stand for and what we are made of, and aligning with right timing. The pressure will increase if you personally are not aligned with where you are, what you are doing, and whom with. And if you have not yet released an old emotional attachment, the pressure will build to do so to the point where you won’t have a choice. If that should happen, acknowledge, release and move on.

Liquid Learnings

“Hawaii” – photographer Sonia

Gillian MacBeth Louthan – Humanity is destined and designed to change and for change.  In the month of Gemini expect that school of thought to be very animated.  Like the many shapes of water, we each have the potential to experience all forms within the same biological greenhouse   We have our liquid days, our solid days, our play-misty for me days, and our ostrich days.

We can be as a teardrop, an iceberg, a creek, a cloud, a raindrop or an ocean.  We are 90% water.  We ebb and flow with every new thought, every sunrise, and every storm, every eclipse.  Yet year after year, we yearn to stay still, stay stuck, and stay constant in our comfort zone.  The only true constant that we really have is the fact that we will always shift and change, for we are water.

Third Quarter Moon in Aries: revise, realign

Aspect of the Aeon Sophia: Bagalamukhi, Goddess Who Dissolves Illusions

Aspect of the Aeon Thelete: Ian, God of the East

Skill:  hold on and be aware of the energies – it’s a wild ride out there today

True Alignments: sharing someone’s load or burden, new life beginning, happiness in everyday things, emulating, future projections, guidance coming from “the unusual,” the Creative Void, the inner compass, contentment

Catalysts for Change:  making the same mistakes, feelings of abandonment and judgment, false fronts, pretending, lack of purpose or meaning, gossip, feelings of superiority, breaking and splitting, pressure releases

Sabian Symbol for the Solar-Lunar Month: “a woman activist in an emotional speech dramatizing her cause”

Sabian Symbol for the Solar-Lunar Year: “the magic carpet of Oriental imagery”

Mars continues to build pressure and intensity as it prepares to station direct tomorrow.  The Moon in Aries, ruled by Mars, is adding another layer of “Mars-ness” into the day.  Mars’ retrograde has been re-working how we use our time, energy, and love, and how we assert our will and desire in the world.

The 2 Forces That Work Against You In A Jury Trial

Fully Informed Jury AssociationA few years ago I received a jury summons. And while I detest the barbaric “show up or else” aspect of it, I do appreciate juries as a last ditch measure against tyranny. (In fact, years ago I spent some time with Larry Dodge, the founder of the Fully Informed Jury Association, and I’ve been a fan ever since.)

I was assigned to a slightly complicated drunk driving case, and since I have courtroom experience, the other jurors elected me Foreman. We heard the testimony in the case, which didn’t take long, and then retired to our jury room to deliberate.

Once we got going I realized, for the first time, what kind of pressures were placed on jurors. More importantly, I saw that in just an hour or two, I could have turned my jury in either direction. It wouldn’t have been hard.

I didn’t do that, of course. I oversaw the jury very loosely and was absolutely as fair as I knew how to be… without diminishing my own opinion, of course. It’s a sobering thing to decide whether a man goes free or is locked in a cage.

But, I could have turned the jury either way, and not because they were weak, stupid people (they weren’t), or because I was overbearing. Rather, I could have manipulated them because they were in a position that lent itself to manipulation.

Why Some Juries Get It Wrong
