Sean Adl-Tabatabai – The Democrat-run city of Seattle has agreed to pay violent Black Lives Matter rioters a whopping $10 million in reparations.

Vince Coyner – Democrats frequently talk about compensation for slavery and Jim Crow in the form of reparations for black Americans. Indeed, House member Cori Bush recently proposed $14 trillion as a good place to start.
Any reparations plan would be extraordinarily complex. First, if reparations are to be paid, to whom would they be paid? To every one of America’s 45 million blacks? Would that include the 4.5 million blacks who immigrated after Jim Crow was gone?
Jonathan Turley – “It’s time to pay.” Those four words from Rep. Cori Bush (D., Mo.) are being heard a lot by Democratic politicians across the country this month. For Bush, the debt amounts to $14 trillion for reparations for every black American.
In California, activists are demanding as much as $5 million per black resident and asking Gov. Gavin Newsom “where’s the money.” One member of Newsom’s Reparations Task Force demanded that the state pay its “sin bill.” Continue reading
Clarice Feldman – For some time, optimists like me have had to work hard to keep believing that reason will prevail. Rusty – Marianne Williamson, 2020 Democratic hopeful and self-help author, rolled out her plan to spend up to $500 billion in reparations to descendants of slavery.
Williamson argues, as many policy experts do, that reparations could actually cost trillions of dollars by offering financial backing to those who have never actually experienced slavery themselves.
By comparison, her plan is a real penny-pincher.
“I have proposed $200 to $500 billion to be disbursed over a period of 20 years,” she announced, failing to offer a glimpse as to what magical money tree she’ll grow in order to get that money. Continue reading
