‘Smart’ Utility Meters Causing Sleep Trouble, Headaches, Heart Problems

theintelhub.com | January 7 2013

Smart meters—utility meters that use radio frequencies (RF) to report data to utility offices for billing and other purposes—may be harmful to your health.

Just ask Joe Esposito, on whose home the Public Service Company of Oklahoma slapped a smart meter despite his explicit wishes it not be installed. Shortly after installation, Esposito began to experience tooth aches, constant tingling, and aches in his leg that kept him from sleeping. After watching a video by Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt called “Smart Meters & EMR: The Heath Crisis of Our Time,” Esposito put up lead sheeting around the meter. He began immediately to sleep well, to feel no pain in his leg, and relief from his other symptoms. He even experimented on himself by removing the lead once in a while, noting that the pains and sleeplessness returned upon doing so.

Esposito is not alone in this experience; a survey by Dr. Ed Halteman, PhD, found that the many of the 318 residents of a surveyed area with smart meters installed in their homes experienced:

  • Sleep problems (49 percent surveyed)
  • Stress (43 percent)
  • Headaches (40 percent)
  • Ringing in the ears (38 percent)
  • Heart problems (26 percent)

Admittedly, symptoms like stress and sleep problems come from many factors. Halteman noted, however, that sleep problems doubled after smart meter installation.

Power Company To Customer ~ Smart Meter Or No Power At All

Nevada Energy Sends Three Armed Men to Disconnect Woman’s Power After She ‘Opts Out’

Mona Orkoulas

LAS VEGAS- A woman living near Las Vegas has been living without power for more than a month because the electric utility, Nevada Energy, refuses to give its customers the choice to retain an analog style electrical meter.

Mona Orkoulas lives in the mountains outside Las Vegas, Nevada.

For years Mona worked on humanitarian projects in the Middle East: drilling wells, and providing drinkable water and renewable power to remote villages.

Now, it turns out that she may need some humanitarian assistance herself- right here in the USA.

The story begins when Nevada Energy (NVE) installed a ‘smart’ meter on Mona’s bedroom wall in January without permission, or even so much as a few days’ notice.  Mona reports that she does not have any prior history of medical issues.

Shortly after NV Energy installed the smart meter, she started experiencing a range of adverse symptoms including headaches and tinnitus. A letter from Mona’s doctor to NV Energy reads:

“Neurological and cardiological findings may be associated with pulsed EMF… I recommend that this patient be allowed to have NVE reinstall an analog meter at her house.”

Discovery Of Magnetic Sensors In Fish And Rats May Explain People Who ‘Feel’ Wi-Fi, Smart Meters, Power Lines And Electropollution

Natural News | July 11 2012

NaturalNews  ~ It is well known that many people are sensitive to electromagnetic pollution. Wi-fi gives them headaches. Being near high-voltage power lines can bring on migraines. Using a cell phone unleashes similar symptoms. Until recently, there was no medically-understood mechanism by which electromagnetic waves could be sensed by humans. But now, thanks to some fascinating science summarized here, that mystery may be closer to being solved.

Scientists from the University of Munich, led by geophysicist Michael Winklhofer, say they’ve located and identified “internal compass needles” in the noses of rainbow trout. These are called magnetosensory cells, and they turn out to be far more sensitive to magnetic fields than anyone previously thought.

As TGdaily.com reports:

The cells sense the field by means of micrometer-sized inclusions composed of magnetic crystals, probably made of magnetite. These inclusions are coupled to the cell membrane, changing the electrical potential across the membrane when the crystals realign in response to a change in the ambient magnetic field.

“This explains why low-frequency magnetic fields generated by powerlines disrupt navigation relative to the geomagnetic field and may induce other physiological effects,” said Winklhofer.

Electro-smog is getting worse by the day

While the study did not look for magnetosensory cells in humans, their identification in fish proves that biological systems can (and do!) create these highly sophisticated “instruments” which sense electromagnetic fields. As any physics student knows, electricity and magnetism are much the same thing: Rotate a coil of wire around a magnet and it produces electric current. High-voltage power lines, inversely, produce a magnetic field.
