Ancient Sounds – New Insights from New Masters

soundJill Mattson – Widely diverse theories on the nature of our universe agree in one intriguing aspect – everything in nature has a vibrational component. Masters and visionaries throughout time – from Edgar Cayce to Stephen Hawking, mystics from Ancient Egypt and India to our Deepak Chopra – share the basic tenet that at the most fundamental level, all inanimate matter and all living systems are particle and wave (matter and energy). Why and How Sound Heals the Body

Christina Sarich – What produces the healing power of sound?

We can feel it when we turn on the radio and our favorite song happens to be playing, or when we sit quietly and listen to the rain.

There is a palpable peace when we are absorbed in quiet and a different kind of rejuvenation when we hear the wind in the trees. There is no doubt that sound has subtle, but profound effects on our body, minds and spirits. How exactly does sound work, though, to heal us?

Just Like an Orchestra, You Can Tune Your Body

Have you ever listened to an orchestra prepare to play an invigorating symphony?

There is a cacophony first with the woodwinds and strings, horns, and timpani making quite a ruckus, but when they tune their instruments precisely, the sound that washes over you like a wave, can bring peace and excitement that surpasses some of the most invigorating practices on earth – like sky diving, or dropping 45 feet into a hidden cave.

Sound is not unorganized chaos. It is a dynamic but ordered pattern. – Dr. Hans Jenny

The body works in much the same way. If a single instrument (organ, or organ system) is playing its own tune, and not in harmony with the rest of the body, disease is more likely to happen. As sound therapist, Dr. John Beaulieu, ND, PhD explains, Continue reading

These 6 Frequencies Were Used By Ancient Cultures To Heal And Connect To The Divine

frequenciesTime Wheel – Can sound affect you on more than an emotional level? Sure it can. Sound has a whole level of usefulness that we’re only beginning to discover; from successfully helping us transcend the blood-brain barrier in the medical field, to the noise of certain street lamps putting us on edge, there’s a lot more going on than we really notice. There are entire ranges of perception we can’t pick up on normally, and it’s a bit strange that one of the few that we can detect receives such little merit. Over the past few decades, however, it seems we finally realize that sound is useful for more than just entertaining, communicating, and pissing off your neighbors.

In the 70s, there were two doctors who supposedly rediscovered a set of frequencies that resonate with the mind on a primal level. Who are these doctors? Enter Dr Joseph Puelo and Leonard Horowitz, a pair of behavioral scientists turned psychonaut after having what I’ll call a ‘Gnostic calling.’ Using numerology they uncovered a set of specific sounds that can affect someone on a spiritual level. They wrote a book, and joined the raging psychedelic movement of the 1970s. So what did they find?

They stumbled upon a set of frequencies, with corresponding effects, each of which are linked with a syllable of the old Solfege scale. The Solfege scale was a Benedictine style of teaching tones for choir singing. We can see it’s descendants named off in the scale used in The Sound Of Music. You know the scene.
