Lisa Page: Trump Is Right, Mueller Probe Is Witch Hunt

Lisa PageSean Adl-Tabatabai – FBI lawyer Lisa Page has vindicated Trump, confirming that the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller is nothing more than a baseless witch hunt.

According to Page, a text sent by former FBI agent Peter Strzok last year that read: “There’s no big there there,” refers to the fact that the Russian collusion probe is nothing more than a political witch hunt.

During a closed-door congressional hearing last week, Page said the message from her former lover and colleague referred to the lack of merit in the Russia investigation.

“Strzok declined to say – but Page, during a closed-door interview with lawmakers, confirmed in the most pained and contorted way that the message in fact referred to the quality of the Russia case, according to multiple eyewitnesses,” John Solomon wrote in The Hill Thursday.

Special Counsel Tells Federal Court Rosenstein Investigative Scope Was Detailed in Super-Secret Verbal Instructions…

Sundance – The transcript from the U.S. Special Counsel -vs- Paul Manafort has been released (full pdf below).  The entire transcript of the arguments between the Special Counsel lawyers, Paul Manafort Lawyers and Federal Judge T.S. Ellis III are well worth reading.

special counselAs noted yesterday Judge Ellis is the first legal entity to identify the origin of the special counsel investigative authority as a troubling issue.  This is likely to become a much bigger story as people catch on to the ramifications.

It is only now coming to light how Asst. Attorney General Rod Rosenstein essentially appointed the Special Counsel to take over the counterintelligence investigation originally begun by the FBI in 2016.  Also previously unknown: part of the initiating mandate included the special counsel being granted use of a sketchy FISA Court Title-1 surveillance warrant initially applied against Carter Page in October 2016. Gauntlet Thrown: House Judiciary Demands Special Counsel To Investigate Comey, Lynch, And Clinton

investigationZeroHedge.com – Roughly a month ago, we noted that Republicans might be well served to stop sitting around twiddling their thumbs waiting for the next Russia ‘bombshell’ to drop and actually go on the offensive against an ‘investigation’ that has obviously morphed into mass hysteria courtesy of free-flowing leaks from a conflicted “intelligence community” intent upon bringing down a presidency rather than finding out the truth.  Here’s what we said:

Of course, until someone within the Trump administration or Republican Party smartens up and calls for the appointment of a ‘Special Counsel’ to look into Hillary’s email scandal, something that should have been done long ago, and not for retaliatory reasons but simply due to Comey’s and AG Lynch’s blatant mishandling of the investigation (a point which Deputy AG Rosenstein obviously agreed with), the Democrats have no reason to calm their mass hysteria.  Then, and only then, do we suspect that Hillary might just be able to ‘convince’ her party to exercise some form of reasonable judgement.

Well, it seems that some folks on the House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), seem to agree.  As such, 20 Republican Representatives have sent a letter to Attorney General Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein demanding the appointment of a Second Special Counsel to look into a laundry list of potential scandals surrounding Hillary Clinton, James Comey, Loretta Lynch and many others from the Obama administration. ‘Special Counsel Mueller’s Investigation is Out of Control,’ DOJ ‘Should Shut It Down’

Judicial Watch –  Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russia’s alleged collusion with the Trump 2016 campaign and the firing of FBI Director James Comey is “out of control” and should be “shut down” by the Department of Justice, said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

On Twitter, July 2, Fitton said,  “Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation is out of control” and “DOJ should shut it down.”

On July 5, Fitton tweeted, “At least seven of the 15 lawyers Mueller has brought on to the special counsel team have donated to Dem candidates.”

Also, during a July 3 interview on Fox’s Happening Now, Fitton said, “This is the twelfth — my count is 14 or 15 — lawyers they have working on this one investigation to investigate what? An employment dispute between [former FBI Director] Comey and the president? Paul Manafort’s filing of a document or General Flynn’s filing of a document?”

“I don’t understand what this investigation is about,” said Fitton.
