Chiron — the Master, the Teacher, the Healer — takes “center sky” today, as the Sun moves into opposition with it.  There are two days each year when Chiron rules the energetics; today is one of them.

The energy of Chiron seeks to heal deep wounds through the acquisition of knowledge.

The only way this can happen with Chiron is when a wound (pain) is present.  In fact, Chiron often induces the pain so that masterful knowledge can be obtained.

Catalysts for Change:  rationalizing behavior and actions, self-sacrifice just to keep the peace, defensive, arguments, unprepared, restriction of growth, clinging to the past, domineering, repeating an old pattern, divide and conquer tactics, heightened anger

Today, I will list the primary themes and then cover a couple of things coming ahead on our Magic Carpet Ride of 2016:

1- Be a Pioneer – The Sun discharges the energetic of “newly opened lands offer the pioneer new opportunities and experiences.”  This is a fabulous energetic to move past a fear or barrier to get to a better place (physically, mentally, emotionally).  Pioneering requires breaking away from the familiar, to some degree or another.  It also usually involves the unknown.

loveThe Angels – Breathe. Drop into your heart and breathe as if you could inhale all the love in the universe. Breathe in again and let this love sink deeply into you, filling you, rejuvenating you, relaxing you. In truth, dear ones, Love is there for you at all times.

Love is there in the morning’s first warm rays of sunshine! This is why the birds sing with joy each and every dawn. Give thanks for you sun for it is the light that gives you physical life. Your sun has a soul that is very much like the pure light of God wanting always to burn away the clouds, and to activate the life within all living beings.

Love is there waiting for you beneath your feet in the embrace of your Mother earth. Feel the grass, the dirt, the sand beneath you when you walk outside and give thanks for this living, breathing, being that inhabits your beautiful planet, for her soul loves you very much, nourishes you and gives you life. She gives you the home in which your soul is allowed to play and discover its deeper truths.

The Astrology of May – a Retrograde Season to Remember

jupiterHenry Seltzer – The astrology of May features Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto. This is a complex month when inner planet retrogrades bring a sense of confusion and potential upset, switching gears, and when all three outer planets are once again very much in evidence, signaling transformation. Mercury is in its retrograde for the entire month, and then some, when you take the period of its retrograde shadow into account.

Mercury stations direct on Sunday, May 22nd, one day after a dramatic Full Moon that is closely conjunct retrograde Mars, so that this is one particularly strong weekend of the entire Mercury Retrograde period. Mercury finally escapes its retrograde shadow next month, on June 7th.

It is also fascinating to note that when the New Moon comes along, on Friday, May 6th, the Sun and Moon make a grand trine in Earth signs with Jupiter and Pluto, bringing the volatile forming square between Jupiter and Saturn fully into the picture, and Uranus-Pluto as well. This grand trine is formed once again when Mercury stations two weeks later, at 14 degrees of Taurus.

Jupiter in mid-Virgo stations this month also, and remains all month in close contra-parallel with Neptune in Pisces, opposite Jupiter. With all the outer planets triggered in this way, what we have is another rather intense monthly cycle, with plenty of introspective moments and with other-dimensional intimations that nudge us into the personal evolution that our higher selves have apparently long ago signed up for.

True Alignments: elevated views or perspectives, intentions, in awe of nature, seeing the clues, brilliance, creations of beauty, opening up, alternate possibilities, tradition, desire, regaining a sense of control, inventiveness

Catalysts for Change: following the rules when they no apply, desire to escape, lost in a flight of fancy when the facts do not match up, afraid to act, being lured or seduced, denying self, not open to receiving, premature disclosure, power struggles

Sabian Symbol for the Solar-Lunar Month and Solar-Lunar Year: “the magic carpet of Oriental imagery” (transcending, rising above, innovating)

Our year-long adventure of the “magic carpet ride” offers us new scenery and unique views today.

Venus moves to and re-activates the energy of the New Moon in Aries, 19 Aries and the Sabian symbol of “the magic carpet of Oriental imagery.” This energetic is about transcending.

Today, the magic carpet ride has a few things to show:

1- Eruptions and Breaking points:  The Earth is discharging the energetic of “a broken bottle and spilled perfume.” This brings the potential for things that have been building up to come to a point of release. It can be hard to concentrate when this degree of the zodiac is activated. Sometimes things have to break and spill out before we understand what we had. Feelings of loss can come up. It’s what happens after things are released (the aftermath) that is important. We want to handle it with care.
