Clarice Feldman – The French king Louis XV is credited with saying “après moi le deluge,” meaning he didn’t care what happens after he was gone. Biden has not said the same, but his actions make clear that he’s perfectly happy to see the country weak and bankrupt and the Constitution torched when he leaves office and Donald Trump takes over for a remarkable second term.
The press, which has covered for Biden most of his term, is now trying to hide their obvious airbrushing of the worst president in modern history and stay afloat. Given the shrinking audience influence coupled with massively declining income from severe loss of cable subscriptions and advertising revenue, American media outlets have chosen a different course: straight-up propaganda intended for consumption by a niche audience, half of which don’t know they’re being lied to and the other half not caring.
Broadcasting has been replaced with “wish casting.” How else can we explain the completely lopsided coverage from the alphabet news outlets, which provided Kamala Harris with “78 percent positive coverage, while these same networks have pummeled former President Donald Trump with 85 percent negative coverage?” And it was even more biased on CNN and MSNBC. Paul Ingrassia – On November 5th, the American people gave Donald Trump one of the most resounding and consequential political mandates in generations. By the popular vote count, he won more in total than any – legitimate – presidential candidate in history, eclipsing by 3 million his own record-breaking 74 million votes from 2020.
On the electoral college side, Donald Trump amassed more of such votes than any Republican president since George H.W. Bush, nearly forty years ago, who at that point was just one election removed from Ronald Reagan’s 49-state landslide and rode the momentum of his predecessor. By 2024’s standards, Donald Trump’s 2024 victory – both in terms of electoral and popular vote – was a landslide.
Victor Davis Hanson – We are witnessing a historic counterrevolution after Trump’s victory, far different from his first election in 2016.
The orthodox and the supposed scripted future are now suspect. And they are likely to be dethroned — from the trivial to the existential.
Critics claim Trump has no mandate to stage such a counterrevolution. They argue that he did not win 51 percent of the popular vote or achieve a Reaganesque landslide in the Electoral College. Continue reading
