Whole Foods supports Monsanto-pushed GMO fake labeling bill in U.S. Senate [Video]

foodsMike Adams – Whole Foods Market (WFM) was caught in a blatant, brazen lie today after Natural News published a report that showed Whole Foods joining with Monsanto to support a GMO “fake labeling” bill in the U.S. Senate. The proposed new law would outlaw GMO labeling nationwide for up to two years, then roll out a GMO labeling “compromise” that would allow companies to use QR code (machine language) labeling that isn’t readable by humans.

The proposed law, in other words, is a fraud. It would not require any sort of GMO labeling that’s readable by human beings, and it would destroy the only existing labeling law that requires real, honest labeling (the Vermont law).

As news of the betrayal spread across the internet, the Whole Foods Big Lie machine went into action, deliberately spreading false and misleading information via social media to deny the fact that Whole Foods’ own CEO, Walter Robb, is on the record openly supporting this Monsanto-engineered GMO fake labeling law (see below).

Today, in response to a widely publicized article on Natural News that quoted a breaking story from Food Democracy Now, Whole Foods posted the following lie on its Facebook page:

There is no truth to these claims. We have always advocated for more transparency in the marketplace, because we believe people have a right to know what’s in their food… Our commitment is to true transparency, and our policy will not accept QR codes or 1-800 numbers as valid ways of identifying foods that may contain GMOs.

Retail Giant Costco To Become New Reigning King of Organic Food Sales

Nick Meyer – When most people think of organic foods and where to get them, they usually tend to think of Whole Foods first.

The Austin, TX-based upscale chain moved to the forefront of the organic grocery industry by making a commitment to local and organic food producers, and combining a love of good food with better quality ingredients.

costcoBut lately, the profile of the organic shopper has changed dramatically, as the movement has gone mainstream.

Customers are increasingly looking for cheaper organic options, and for the ability to buy everything they need for meals in one spot. And that’s where Costco, one of the biggest retailers of its kind in America, comes in.

Ranking as the second biggest retailer in America overall behind Wal-Mart Costco obviously has a leg up on the competition.

But they also deserve to be commended for committing to organics before most other large grocery and retail chains were willing to take the chance.

That commitment has been rewarded: Costco is now projected to sell over $4 billion in organic products this year according to this article by takepart.com, which trumps Whole Foods’ projected $3.6 billion and makes it the likely number one seller. The numbers were calculated by financial firm BMO Capital Markets.

The article mentioned that Costco has increased sales of organics by about $1 billion the past six months and is now going all in on that commitment, similar to the plans of other major store chains like Kroger (which was also expected to possibly surpass Whole Foods this year) and Target. Whole Foods Announces New, Low-Cost Organic Grocery Chain

foodsCarey Wedler – Whole Foods announced Wednesday that it will launch a new, low-priced grocery chain that carries organic and natural foods. It will be “cool, hip, and technology-oriented” and cater to millennials who are health conscious but cannot afford to shop at Whole Foods. The announcement of the new chain comes as increased demand for organic food is sweeping the nation.

Co-CEO Walter Robb said:

“This marketplace continues to grow and explode, and I think we think by creating a second growth vehicle for our company, we can broaden the accessibility to fresh, healthy foods.”

John Mackey, CEO, credits his company with the explosion of demand for cleaner, non-GMO foods:

“We’ve been so successful that we’ve actually bred a lot more competition, and everyone is jumping on the natural and organic food bandwagon, and that’s really, frankly, due to our success.” Continue reading

3 Whole Food Supplements that Go Beyond Multivitamins

GreenTabletsPillsThere’s no denying that multivitamins can have a positive effect on the human body (just make sure they actually contain the vitamin, food, or herb advertised). But the problem is that most multivitamins are a collection of isolated nutrients selected and combined by the company making the product. Many natural health authorities have pointed out that when nature does the selecting and combining, the end product is a whole food with a much better nutritional profile.

Why Whole Food Supplements are Better

Across the spectrum of the natural health world, one thing is agreed on by virtually everyone – eating whole foods is better for health than eating processed foods. Could it be any different with supplements? Most multivitamins are the supplement equivalent of processed foods, being comprised of isolated, refined, processed, and often synthetic nutrients combined in a capsule. Continue reading

Whole Foods Knowingly Engages In Massive GMO Deception

NaturalNews | September 26 2012

Whole Foods deceives consumers into unknowingly buying GMOs while financially supporting a GMO supply chain that ultimately enriches Monsanto, charges an explosive new undercover sting video released by Organic Spies.

The video features secret camera footage from a dozen Whole Foods stores in the Los Angeles area, capturing Whole Foods employees lying on camera about the genetically engineered ingredients found in products sold at Whole Foods.

“It’s against our policy to carry anything that’s grown with GMOs in it,” says one employee, caught on camera.

But according to Organic Spies, anywhere from 20% – 30% of Whole Foods products contain GMOs.

When asked whether Whole Foods products contain GMOs, another employee says, “Absolutely not. Because the bottom line for all Whole Foods is no preservatives, no additives, no added growth hormones, no GMOs, absolutely, that’s for everything.”

This statement is, of course, patently absurd. Even I’ve noticed all kinds of additives and preservatives in products sold at Whole Foods. And GMOs are found throughout the store, including in many so-called “natural” products that are actually made with GM corn. In fact, Natural News just revealed a list of the top 10 breakfast cereals most likely to contain GMOs… and some of them are sold at Whole Foods.

“Whole Foods has mastered the art of bait and switch”

According to the undercover video, Whole Foods has “mastered the art of bait and switch” by advertising their foods as organic and non-GMO, then inundating customers with foods labeled “natural” which actually contain genetically engineered ingredients and pesticide residues.
