Does It Resonate?

Does It ResonateJennifer Hoffman – Resonance is important now, which is the synergy of frequency and vibration between two objects that could be people, events, situations, or locations. Resonance is the new buzz word meaning how something feels to you but it is a little more complicated than that. If you find that you are uncomfortable with a lot of what you see and hear in the world today, you can no longer connect with old, familiar things in your life, you’re experiencing resonance dissonance. Resonance is a great way to ascertain energetic synergy but it is so much more than that as you will discover in this week’s article and podcast.

Have you noticed how things that were once only part of the small spiritual community are now becoming much more mainstream? During a commercial advertising a new movie, I heard the announcer say ‘Everyone will resonate with this film.” That really got my attention, not because I think the film is good but because they used the word ‘resonate’. Once reserved for the spiritual or new age communities, it is now part of the vernacular and used in everyday language. And getting people to think about the idea of resonance and energy connections is a good thing.

Let’s not make the mistake of putting resonance into the spiritual basket and then calling it good because ‘all things spiritual are good’. Resonance simply refers to an energetic alignment and synergy and nothing else, it is not good or bad. We resonate with what is aligned with our energetic frequency and includes what we need to feel good, to be happy, to heal, to feel complete, and to feel recognized, valued, authentic, and acknowledged.

We resonate with our fears, our joy, our success, and our failures. Depending on what we are willing to allow into our lives, we will bring in everything that we resonate with to make our intentions a reality and create the life of our dreams or of our nightmares.

To casually portray resonance as something positive, alluring, and simple is preventing us from understanding how resonance can take us down the path of victimhood, grief, and fear if we do not pay attention to what we are resonating with, and why. We can resonate with what causes us pain as well as what brings us joy. The majority of what we resonate with is aligned with our life lessons and learning and that’s why resonance should be used with clarity and discernment.

There is a difference between resonating with what we want to be aligned with and resonating with what we can be or are actually aligned with.

Understanding that can help us understand why we make choices in the short term that do not work out for us in the longer term and why we make what we later call ‘bad choices’ because what we resonate with is exactly and perfectly aligned with our energy in each moment.

But underneath our desire for joy or peace or love or abundance is an even deeper need to resonate with something else that meets our need to be validated, acknowledge, safe, secure, loved, and appreciated. And that is what we resonate with and what really drives our choices.

Here’s an example. You say you resonate with success and financial security so you set your intention for a good job with a fancy title, a great salary and upward career mobility. You work harder than anyone else and you become very successful. Now you have lots of money to spend, a fancy title and all of the benefits, and you feel great about your outer life.

But you work too hard, put in too many hours, and you have no free time. You are afraid of losing your job to competitors and office politics, and you no longer like your job but you stay at it for the salary. You are not happy and that’s disappointing because you thought all of that hard work would be it for you, you would have ‘made it’ and you would have the ‘lived happily for ever after’ life.

You may say ‘I do not resonate with this job any more’ but that would not be true. The job was not what you resonated with at all and that is why you are now having ‘resonance dissonance’ because what you really resonated with was having status, financial security, and not being poor. You thought that getting the great job and big salary would solve your problems but they created problems of their own because the great job and big salary were a stop gap measure that did not address far deeper fears and anxieties.

How do you change this? By being aware of what you are really resonating with and shifting your intention to that. By honestly assessing your needs and realizing what it is that makes you feel safe, secure, protected, and in control of your reality. At some level, we all resonate with those things and ultimately, that is what we want to create in our lives with every intention we set.

Let’s take a look at romantic relationships. Say you resonate with the concept of having a long term relationship with a loving, compassionate, kind person and that is what you set an intention for. But you continue to meet people who are just the opposite and who do not have long term relationship potential. After a half dozen relationship starts and disappointing breakups you decide that relationships are not for you and you’ll just stay single.

And you may say well, I did not resonate with a relationship after all but that is not true. What did you really resonate with? Well, I can say that from working with hundreds of clients who had a similar problem, you resonate with the belief that relationships threaten your freedom, your fear of being vulnerable and hurt, your fear of abandonment and rejection, and your belief that relationships disempower you.

You may also resonate with your own wounding from childhood or past lives and you intentionally choose wounded partners that you want to heal and make whole.

This is why it is important to understand the different kinds and levels of resonance and how they work in our decision making, our choices, and what we are aligned with.

Resonance means to be aligned with, at the same frequency of, sharing an energetic vibration, and is a term that defines our new ways of connecting with everything – people, events, situations, and places. I say it’s a new way because as we become more aware of energy, frequency, and vibration, it becomes harder and harder to ignore where we are not resonant, we have no energetic alignment, and there is a distinct difference in energetic frequency.

Resonance is our way of determining how we connect with people and situations and what we can connect with because now, more than ever, if there is no resonance there is no possibility or potential for connection, in the short or long term.

When everyone was at more or less the same energetic level and frequency we didn’t think about resonance and there was really no reason to. There were people and situations we naturally gravitated towards and others we avoided, things that made us feel good or bad, and that we liked or disliked.

But because we now know ourselves as energetic beings our awareness of different frequencies and vibrations is much stronger. The gift of our enhanced energetic awareness is a heightened sensitivity to the differences between energy frequencies and a greater awareness of resonance. If you’re thinking great, I will just make sure I only connect things that I really resonate with hold on because there is more to it than that.

We need to understand that resonance is a barometer of where we are energetically and that includes all types of resonance, open and hidden.

And this new focus on energetic synergy makes it difficult, if not impossible, to ignore or pretend that we resonate with what doesn’t match our own energetic frequency. If we do not turn away from those kinds of relationships, it may end all by itself because resonance is one part of a larger energetic system that binds our reality together. What we do not or can no longer resonate with will fall away by itself.

This takes all connections down to the level of frequency and vibration, and it’s where we choose who we can and cannot connect with, based on what we resonate with.

For some this may be a sad realization that we have transcended our 3D blissful ignorance of everything but how we ‘felt’ about someone or something or how we would previously take action based on our commitments, responsibilities, or obligations. Now it’s about resonance and energy and every connection we make will be in response to one of two questions:

1. Do I resonate with this (person, place or thing)?

2. Can this (person, place or thing) be aligned with my energy, do they resonate with me, and is there a place for them/it within my energy field or energetic space?

Once upon a time we would hold energetic space for those with different energy frequencies, giving them a chance to ‘catch up’ to us or achieve a similar level to ours or to where we think they should be or need to be. We can no longer do that because the energetic differences are too big and the burden is on each of us individually to choose our frequency and what we resonate with. While giving someone the gift of holding energetic space for them was something we chose to do as part of our healing path with them, it’s something we can no longer do because it interferes with their path and ours too, and it interferes with their free will.

We are now deep within a transition that only has forward motion. There is no turning back and there is no ‘back’ to turn to. The most dense aspects of the 3D paradigms are gone and more of them are falling away every moment. They’re being replaced by a new array of lighter and higher frequency paradigms that are available for us to investigate and choose what matches our energy and what we resonate with.

This is why we can no longer hold energetic space for others because then they cannot choose what resonates with them, they will choose what resonates with the person who is holding space for them. And it’s something they cannot sustain, has no value or meaning for them, and doesn’t resonate with them, their life path, energy, or life purpose.

Resonance is an aspect of multi-dimensionality that we must learn to use wisely, effectively, and purposefully. It’s part of our new ascension paradigm and it is the point from which we will create everything in our life from this point forward. It will be increasingly difficult for us to be aware of, choose, and connect with something we do not resonate with.

When we use resonance to make our choices we remember that everything is energetic and making choices based on resonance keeps us within the scope of our intention so that everything we manifest is an aspect of our most powerful, heartfelt intentions for ourselves and our life.
