Prominent Las Vegas businessman Don Forman could have rested on his laurels and stuck to developing his business ventures, but he chose to give back and serve his community. Since 2014, Forman has been collaborating with Fox5 Surprise Squad to help people from various backgrounds, particularly those who feel hopeless and alone yet continue to fight for a better life every day.
Forman is the owner of United Nissan in Las Vegas and another Nissan dealership in Tustin, Southern California. Instead of using his wealth and influence for his own sake, the charitable businessman is using his platform to help others because as Forman said, “I don’t think there’s anything you can do in life that gives you the same feeling as giving back.”
Forman and the Fox5 Surprise Squad has brought tears to our eyes as they meet different people and give them surprises beyond their imagination. One of the most touching stories featured on the show was that of Kylie Fronius, a sweet teenage girl who bravely asked Daniel Revis, a 17-year-old with Down Syndrome, to the prom so he wouldn’t be left out.
Forman and Fox5 Surprise Squad team gave the couple a fancy ride, dinner, and a red-carpet entrance to the prom. In addition, the generous owner of United Nissan also gave Daniel $10,000 college scholarship and a brand-new car to Kylie.
Another touching story that showed Forman’s remarkable kindness was the case of a young wife and mother named Jessica whose husband was battling a terminal illness. Jessica works as a waitress at Chili’s and despite all the hardships, she continued to work to support their family and keep her husband in treatment.
The Fox5 Surprise Squad team went undercover. Acting as customers, each member left huge tips to the surprise of Jessica. When Forman was introduced, he told the young wife that it would be best for her to stay by her husband’s side, so he gave Jessica $10,000, a place to stay near the hospital, and a car to allow her to drive back and forth.
Jessica was beyond words after receiving all the surprises and when she was able to speak she most likely described how many people regard Forman and the rest of the Fox5 Surprise team–angels. “You guys are my angels. Thank you,” Jessica said tearfully as she hugged Forman.
People like Forman who selflessly do good deeds to help people in need will always be a blessing to those they meet and inspiration for us to follow.
