Learning To Receive

jelailaLike most of us, I was taught that it is better to give than to receive.  It sure feels good to give…all that appreciation and positive energy can be a heady experience!

Like many of you, I find it hard to receive….that risk of rejection can get really uncomfortable.  Yet there are times in our life when our respective Soul and Guides present us with an opportunity to work through that fear; such an opportunity has been presented to me.

If you’ve followed my work for a while, you know that I am passionate about animal rescue. For the past several years I have  fostered, donated, and fundraised for various rescue groups.  In that time I have seen many dogs rescued and adopted into loving homes.

This past week I saw a Facebook posting for a little dog named Beau.  Beau, a tiny 2 year-old Italian Greyhound was rescued from a farm in Oklahoma where he was one of four neglected dogs living outside with little food and no shelter. All four were rescued and placed in foster care.  Beau, being the youngest and smallest (10 lbs.) was in the worst shape because he did not fight for what little food there was.

I have seen many emaciated and abused dogs and each one tears at the heart making you realize once again why this work is so important.  Sometimes a dog grabs my heart and I have to remind myself that I cannot adopt them all.  LOL  (If you are in rescue work then you know that I mean.)

So far I have succumbed only twice (Nubi and Cleo), but I succumbed for the 3rd time the moment  I looked in Beau’s soulful brown eyes.  This little boy not only tugged at my heart, he makes it sing.  (When your heart sings, it is a sign to follow.)

For years I have been providing the weekly messages, my way of doing my part to help humanity through the ascension of our planet.  Several months ago I, along with other spiritual teachers, were asked to give away free session time to help further that cause.  People have often emailed asking how they can give back (I don’t have a donate button on my website.)  As usual, I just ask them to pay it forward.

Today, in keeping with learning to receive, I am asking for help.  Yes, it is for Beau, but I will benefit too. Will you help me bring Beau home?  We will need to cover the costs of getting Beau to Kansas City along with much needed medical  care.  Any amount will help.
