Justin Trudeau tried to keep this shocking move hidden

authoritarianismUnmuzzled News – Authoritarianism is on the march.

Wagging the dogs of war is the kind of crisis elites love to cover their worst at home.

But Joe Biden chief ally Justin Trudeau hoped to keep one terrifying move quiet with everyone distracted over Ukraine.

The elites don’t just want to smear those who counter the elite approved narratives like COVID, inflation, so-called “green energy,” and call anyone who dares call-out obvious fraudulent propaganda videos about Ukraine as stooges for Putin. They want to criminalize all dissenting voices.

Now, after seeing what they could get away with doing to Trucker Convoy protesters, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party is on the path to criminalizing online speech.

The world was captivated by the Freedom Truckers in Canada for their brave stand against pandemic tyranny.

The massive grassroots protest gave the globalist elites their biggest scare in years.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau assumed emergency powers during the Trucker Convoy protests in Canada and pressured banks to freeze transactions for people who contributed financially in any way to the anti-mandate protest.

And Trudeau and his cohorts went to extreme lengths attempting to break the Freedom Convoy – and now they’re exposing the authoritarian elites’ real end game.

Substack Comms VP Lulu Cheng Meservey noted the nightmarish language in the proposed bill.

Meservey, a Canadian citizen, tweeted:

“The Canadian government has proposed legislation (Bill C-36) where people can be taken to court and penalized if they’re suspected of being ABOUT TO post something hateful online. An individual would be able to report another PREEMPTIVELY for something they haven’t said yet.”

The international Left are implementing policies from dystopian novels and films at breakneck speed.

The new proposal sounds akin to pre-crime in the film Minority Report.

Meservey continued:

“Alarming aspects, in ascending order:

(1) Fuzzy and circular definition of ‘hateful’ speech (‘involves detestation…stronger than dislike’). (2) Encouraging citizens to report on one another — creepy. (3) The ability to punish people for something they haven’t actually done yet (!)”

Needless to say, this is an incredibly dangerous precedent.

And the language of the bill is vague enough to be misapplied in all sorts of troubling ways.

Social media censorship is bad enough, and this will only make it worse.

The United Kingdom already criminalizes online speech; a British teenage girl named Chelsea Russell was charged with a hate crime for posting explicit rap lyrics on Instagram.

And the United States could be next.

Several Democrats are already pushing legislation to ban “misinformation” and “hate speech,” which is protected by the First Amendment.

But the Left have been pushing relentlessly to demonize, and even criminalize, “dangerous” speech that “undermines democracy.”

Authoritarians always claim to be protecting the interests of the downtrodden or the society as a whole when they propose breathtaking prohibitions on freedom.

Donald Trump’s expulsion from every major social media platform should have been the wakeup call needed to reveal the severity of the assault on free speech.

Back in 2017, Canada passed Bill C-16, which was widely criticized by Dr. Jordan Peterson and others as a compelled speech proposal.
