People have a hard time believing that our gov’t could be malevolent. Admitting that such deception exists would shatter their world. So its easier to simply ignore/deny anything that disturbs their “peace” of mind. The egos defense mechanism is strong enough to look at war and rationalize it away, than to acknowledge that we live in a world that is ruled by sociopaths.
