Newt Gingrich: “Trump WILL be impeached” (clever!)

The Horn News – Former House Majority Speaker Newt Gingrich is one of the few authorities on presidential impeachment in the United States. After all, he was the one that brought former President Bill Clinton before Congress in 1998.

Gingrich said on Tuesday that he was confident that President Donald Trump will be impeached by Democrats — but that it’s also going to be a political disaster for the Democrats.

“I think the momentum of radicalism on their side is so great, they won’t be able to help themselves,” Gingrich told The Washington Examiner regarding the recent Ukrainian transcript scandal. “The Democrats have always had the votes if they wanted to do it, and it’s up the them.”

Gingrich went on to say that the Republican-controlled Senate is very unlikely to remove Trump from office.

Instead, Gingrich said that Republicans will demand an investigation into the Democratic Party’s illegal activities in Ukraine; specifically, former Vice President Joe Biden’s demand in 2014 that the country remove the top prosecutor that had an investigation open on his son’s company.

“I just think the Republican position ought to be if you want to look at pressure being brought on Ukraine, you have to look at Biden as well as Trump,” he said. “There is more than enough reason to have a serious deep investigation of what was going on in China and Ukraine as it relates to Biden, father and son.”

Biden isn’t the only Democrat in danger, political experts have noted.

In 2018, three senators — Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., Dick Durbin, D-I.L., and Patrick Leahy, D-V.T. — wrote to Ukraine’s top prosecutor demanding further investigations into Trump, and implied the United States could withdraw aid if they failed to comply.

The Washington Post’s Marc Theissen wrote on Wednesday —

It got almost no attention, but in May, CNN reported that Sens. Robert Menendez, D-N.J., Richard Durbin, D-Ill., and Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., wrote a letter to Ukraine’s prosecutor general, Yuriy Lutsenko, expressing concern at the closing of four investigations they said were critical to the Mueller probe. In the letter, they implied that their support for U.S. assistance to Ukraine was at stake.

Describing themselves as “strong advocates for a robust and close relationship with Ukraine,” the Democratic senators declared, “We have supported [the] capacity-building process and are disappointed that some in Kyiv appear to have cast aside these [democratic] principles to avoid the ire of President Trump,” before demanding Lutsenko “reverse course and halt any efforts to impede cooperation with this important investigation.”

Other political insiders agree that Democrats are in trouble heading towards the 2020 presidential election.

Trump’s personal lawyer, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, told Fox News on Tuesday night that Democrats “have walked into a trap” — and he claimed to have smoking gun proof.

“They’re walked into something that I was hoping they’d walk into for six months. And what they’ve exposed is … one of the major scandals in the early part of the 21st century, which is Joe Biden. It’s a lot of money,” Giuliani told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham. “It’s not just Ukraine. It’s a very serious pattern of conduct. It really goes back to small-time stuff when he first got into the senate.”

“And then the numbers got outrageous in the Obama administration,” he continued. “Five to six million to his son who’s a seriously incompetent person, who got put on the board of the most corrupt company in Ukraine.”

“I have the records of $3 million in laundered payments to Biden’s son. I have the records,” he said. “I have the dates. It went from Ukraine, to Latvia to Cyprus, Cyprus to him. Ask your two lawyers this: That’s called evidence of guilty knowledge.”

“He got $1.5 billion from China! $1.5 Billion! They bought the Vice President of the United States!” Giuliani claimed.

Ahead of the transcripts release Wednesday, Trump tweeted on Wednesday that he’d caught the Democrats by surprise .
