Portland’s leftist leaders get surprise lawsuit

Portland’s leftist leaders sued by ADABlue State Blues – Democrats love harassing anyone who is actually trying to accomplish something in life with their endless list of demands to make sure everyone is playing “fair.”

Now the tables have turned.

Because a group of handicapped Portlanders just served their leftists leaders with a richly deserved lawsuit.

Private businesses have spent the past several decades struggling to jump through all the hoops to please leftist demands for handicap accessible facilities—whether or not they’re actually needed.

Many, such as installing an elevator in a bed and breakfast, are often completely unnecessary and prohibitively expensive.

After all, profit is a powerful motive and most businesses will find a way to make things work (like ground level rooms) if there’s a legitimate market demand.

Governments, on the other hand, represent the least responsive entities on the planet.

Portland government never expected an ADA lawsuit

Now after two years of dealing with a city suddenly in shambles thanks to their blue city fully embracing Marxist Antifa and Black Lives Matter rioters and their lingering encampments, disabled residents in Portland have finally had all they can take.

They recently filed a lawsuit against the city of Portland for failing to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by allowing anybody under the sun to set up camp, completely blocking all access to sidewalks.

“Clear and readily accessible sidewalks are necessary to permit people with mobility disabilities to independently, fully, and meaningfully participate in all aspects of society,” the lawsuit reads.

Funny how people forced to live life in a wheelchair don’t appreciate braving traffic in order to skirt around strung out druggies sprawled out on the sidewalks specifically designed for public use.

Entering the street is an especially dicey proposition for one plaintiff who is blind.

Of course, true to form for an ADA complaint, the solution is radically unworkable and insanely expensive.

Remove vagrants’ tents, or else . . .

According to Oregon Live the lawsuit is calling on the city to remove tents and other items from all city sidewalks and to “construct, purchase or make available an adequate amount of shelter for individuals experiencing homelessness forced to move from their makeshift homes.”

That’s a tricky proposition for a city with a $2 million budget shortfall—and a population fleeing a city that’s been destroyed by “woke” rioters along with their lingering encampments.

But it’s a priceless experience for Democrats to end up sitting on the other side of an ADA lawsuit.
