Shorty Dawkins – Over the past week there has been a veritable explosion of allegations of sexual misconduct by men in the News Media, Congress, and new allegations against Bill Clinton.
Charlie Rose, of PBS, has been accused by eight women of nudity, “groping” and lewd phone calls. See here, and here.

The New York Times announced on Monday that it’s suspending its well-known White House correspondent Glenn Thrush after multiple women came forward with allegations of sexual misbehavior; saying he will be removed from his post pending a full investigation.

Michigan Rep. John Conyers, a Democrat and the longest-serving member of the House of Representatives, settled a wrongful dismissal complaint in 2015 with a former employee who alleged she was fired because she would not “succumb to [his] sexual advances.”
Documents from the complaint obtained by BuzzFeed News include four signed affidavits, three of which are notarized, from former staff members who allege that Conyers, the ranking Democrat on the powerful House Judiciary Committee, repeatedly made sexual advances to female staff that included requests for sexual favors, contacting and transporting other women with whom they believed Conyers was having affairs, caressing their hands sexually, and rubbing their legs and backs in public. Four people involved with the case verified the documents are authentic.
There have been other accusations made against less notable people, which points to the floodgates opening as the Swamp Creatures are being exposed by women, (and men), who have finally spoken up, having been afraid to do so previously. It also points to one simple fact: Power Corrupts. Most, if not all, of the accused hold some sort of power over those they abused. They abused that power. Someone being lower than you in the pecking order doesn’t mean they should be targets. A position of trust is meant for those who can be trusted.
I have an idea. Why don’t we treat others with simple respect? I know, it’s a lot to ask, but really, shouldn’t this be the norm? What ever happened to the Golden Rule? Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. That seems like a damn good way to live.
Respect. It is one word that can change the world. You don’t have to love your neighbor to give them the respect they deserve, and you might just find you like them, but first you need to give them respect.
