The grievance was etched into a tablet that was rediscovered during excavations of the Sumerian city-state Ur in the early 20th century.

Dating back to 1750 BCE, this tablet was written by Nanni, a dissatisfied customer whose ire was directed toward a copper merchant named Ea-nasir.
