monsantoMakia Freeman –  We all have a massive glyphosate problem on our hands, even if you have eaten 100% organic food all your life. The pesticide chemical glyphosate, Monsanto’s gift to mankind, is totally out of control – not just in the US, but also in Europe, Australia and many other nations that use it. Glyphosate is almost constantly in the news, as study after study reveal just how widespread, toxic and carcinogenic it is. It’s the most used pesticide in the world. Meanwhile, the US, EU, UN and others all argue over how this lethal chemical monsantokiller should be classified and labeled – despite the fact it’s showing up in people’s urine, breast milk and blood (yes – even those avoiding GMOs), and despite the fact that it has been found to be, in the words of an MIT scientist, “the most destructive chemical in our environment”.

Although glyphosate used to be the patented chemical solely belonging to Monsanto and used in its RoundUp formula, it is now used by other Big Biotech corporate multinationals such as Dow in their Durango pesticide formula. Now, with the NWO corporatocracy trying to push through the TTIP in secret, backroom deals are being made (such as Big Pharma company Bayer trying to buy out Big Biotech company Monsanto) that could spread glyphosate even further. When is the world going to wake up and acknowledge the uncontrolled glyphosate problem we face?

Quaker instant oatmeal and Silk non-GMO soy creamer contaminated with glyphosate weed killer

glyphosateMike Adams – According to glyphosate laboratory testing conducted at Microbe Inotech Laboratories, Inc., in St. Louis, the Quaker Instant Oatmeal (Strawberries and Cream) sample tested at the lab contains an astonishing 1,327.1 ppb (parts per billion) of the weed killer.

The test results, achieved vi a the ELISA methodology (enzyme linked immunosorbent assay), are astonishing for two reasons:

1) They are extremely high, far surpassing the levels of glyphosate that have so far been detected in other foods.

2) Oats are not GMO! While glyphosate might be expected at some concentrations in GM soy and other herbicide resistant crops, very few people are aware that glyphosate is being routinely sprayed on wheat, barley and oat crops as a powerful desiccant, right before harvest.

Organic brands were far cleaner

By comparison, Nature’s Path Organic Instant Oatmeal — produced by a cereal company that meticulously avoids GMOs and toxic agricultural chemicals — showed a final test result of “less than 75 ppb” which could mean essentially zero. For grains, anything below 75 ppb is below the LoD (Limit of Detection) for the ELISA methodology.

The GMO Cookie is Crumbling

monsantoDr. Joseph Mercola –  In March 2015, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), which is the research arm of the World Health Organization (WHO), determined glyphosate, the active ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide, to be a “probable carcinogen” (Class 2A).

This determination was based on evidence showing the popular weed killer can cause non-Hodgkin lymphoma and lung cancer in humans, along with “convincing evidence” it can also cause cancer in animals.

Monsanto has maintained that the classification as a carcinogen is wrong and continues to tout glyphosate (and Roundup) as one of the safest pesticides on the planet.1 However, they’ve now been slapped with a growing number of lawsuits alleging they’ve long known that Roundup’s glyphosate could harm human health.

Reuters reported: “ ‘[Monsanto] led a prolonged campaign of misinformation to convince government agencies, farmers, and the general population that Roundup was safe… We can prove that Monsanto knew about the dangers of glyphosate,’ said Michael McDivitt, whose Colorado-based law firm is putting together cases for 50 individuals. ‘There are a lot of studies showing glyphosate causes these cancers.’ ”

In fact, internal Monsanto documents reveal they knew over 30 years ago that glyphosate caused adenomas and carcinomas in the rats they studied – and that’s only the beginning of Monsanto’s trouble. As each day goes by, the GMO (genetically modified organism) cookie continues to crumble…

Monsanto Asks California to Withdraw Glyphosate on Its Carcinogen List

California environmental officials intend to add glyphosate to their Proposition 65 list of cancer-causing chemicals. Established in California in 1986, Proposition 65 requires consumer products with potential cancer-causing ingredients to bear warning labels.

Rather than label their products sold in California as likely carcinogenic, most companies reformulated their product ingredients so as to avoid warning labels altogether, and they did this on a national scale, not just in California. Continue reading →

Roundup causes cancer: Monsanto hid evidence for 40 years

monsantoJonathan Benson – The downfall of the Monsanto chemical empire could go down in history as having had its official launch in 2015, the year that its flagship herbicide Roundup was found by the World Health Organization (WHO) to be a probable cause of cancer in humans. 2015 is also the year that it was revealed that Monsanto has been hiding the dirty details of this deadly chemical formula from regulatory authorities for nearly four decades.

An independent research scientist by the name of Anthony Samsel procured some 15,000 pages worth of documents from Monsanto covering the full gamut of research on Roundup, the most widely used herbicide in the world, and the information contained in those pages isn’t pretty. In essence, Monsanto has known full well for nearly 40 years that Roundup and glyphosate are linked to organ damage and cancer, and yet this information was withheld from public purview as “proprietary trade secrets.”

As a member of the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS), Samsel has spent much of his career life studying the toxicological effects and bioactivity of Roundup. Based on a cohort of scientific data, he has come to the conclusion that Monsanto purposely failed to submit to regulators evidence showing that glyphosate isn’t as safe or biodegradable as the company claims.

“Monsanto misrepresented the data,” Samsel told listeners during a recent broadcast on the Progressive Radio Network (PRN) that aired on September 4. Monsanto “deliberately covered up data to bring the product [glyphosate] to market,” he added.

Independent Lab Confirms Kashi Go Lean Cereal Loaded With Toxic Glyphosate

Christina Sarich – An independent lab has found that Kashi’s ‘healthy’ GoLean Original breakfast cereal (owned by Kellogg’s) is loaded with the herbicide chemical glyphosate. What’s more, it actually contains 6x the amount of glyphosate previously found in Kellogg’s’ Froot Loops cereal.

The Kashi brand has been in trouble before. The company has faced multiple class action lawsuits when consumers accused Kellogg’s of misleading them with “natural” labels despite their cereals containing things like pyridoxine hydrochloride, calcium pantothenate, and hexane-processed soy oil.

Now, GMOFreeUSA.org is reporting that a box of Kashi Go Lean Original Cereal, which was not verified by the GMO Free Project, was sent to a lab to be tested for probably-carcinogenic glyphosate – the main ingredient in Monsanto’s best-selling Round Up.

The results were quite shocking:

“A glyphosate residue test was conducted by an accredited lab using the Specific LC/MS/MS testing method with a minimum detectable level of 0.02 ppm. The test documented the presence of glyphosate in the box of Kashi GoLean Original which was not verified by the Non-GMO Project, at a level of 0.68 ppm, or 0.68 mg/kg. This level is nearly 6 times higher than the levels detected in the independent testing we commissioned on Froot Loops.

The test also documented the presence of AMPA (aminomethylphosphonic acid), a metabolite of glyphosate, at an even higher level of 0.81ppm or 0.81mg/kg. This is the first time the lab has documented the presence of AMPA in the products we’ve had tested. The test results give significant reason for concern.
