What Is Holy Basil?
Holy basil Ocimum sanctum (sometimes called Ocimum tenuiflorum) is a green, leafy plant with purple flowers.[2] Part of the mint family, holy basil is an aromatic shrub native to India. Don’t confuse holy basil with sweet basil (also called Thai basil) commonly used in cooking; though related, they’re two different plants.
