The Media Is Now The Political Opposition

mediaPaul Craig Roberts – Bannon is correct that the US media—indeed, the entire Western print and TV media—is nothing but a propaganda machine for the ruling elite. The presstitutes are devoid of integrity, moral conscience, and respect for truth. (https://www.rt.com/usa/375271-bannon-trump-media-cnn/). Read the comments in which morons define freedom of the press as the freedom to lie to the public.

Who else but the despicable Western media justified the enormous war crimes committed against millions of peoples by the Clinton, Bush, and Obama regimes in nine countries—Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, Yemen, Syria, Somalia, Palestine, and the Russian areas of Ukraine?

Who else but the despicable Western media justified the domestic police states that have been erected in the Western world in the name of the “war on terror”?

Along with the war criminals that comprised the Clinton, Bush, and Obama regimes, the Western media should be tried for their complicity in the massive crimes against humanity.

Can Trump Red Pill America?

mediaThomas Zaja – The only thing as unpredictable as Donald Trump’s path to victory in the general election is perhaps his path out of it. Few can be sure of how Trump will hit the ground running after his motley of cabinet appointees and pledge to exculpate Hillary Clinton from prosecution.

Some in the Alt Right think that the honeymoon is over, whereas those in the Alt Lite are delighted to see their civic nationalist President signalling newfound moderation – the only exception being his UN-vote flare-up of Israeli irridentism. The party seems to be over, and unfortunately it’s not the GOP.

However, there are still a number of promising permutations of a Trump presidency that could deliver much-needed doses of political and ideological realism for a nationalist palingenesis. The ground is fertile in an America fatigued by wars, social problems, and government overreach. And then there is liberal America, where tens of millions truly believe that there is an epidemic of racist police shootings, that diversity is a strength, and that tougher gun laws will fix Chicago. They believe the media concerning Arctic ice predictions and the government on unemployment statistics. Many of these sentimental myths hang in the balance, along with several more macabre conspiracies that the Trump Administration could blow the lid off to the horror of the incumbent establishment and their mainstream minions.

This is the origin of the effort to avoid a Trump presidency at all costs. The real Donald Trump is a “conspiracy theorist” and man of the people, which is a good thing considering the decades of corruption stemming from the unbroken rule of groomed insiders. Washington elites are people who believe in social engineering, might is right, psy-ops, nihilism, and plebeian profitability-disposability. Much of the post-election talk imploring Trump to act “more presidential” and “like an adult” is mere code language for getting with the program and being a team player.

Talk Politics For Ten Seconds And I’ll Know Where You Get Your News

problemPaul Rosenberg – Whether the current furor over “fake news” fizzles or ends in state censorship, there is a legitimate issue beneath all the fear-mongering. Moreover, it’s a problem that has been known for a long time. In daily life, it shows up like this:

Have someone talk politics for just 10 seconds, and I can tell you with 80 percent accuracy where they get their news.

You’ve doubtless experienced the same thing. If certain phrases come up, I know that this person watches MSNCB and CNN, and that they read things like the Huffington Post. If they speak another way, I’ll know that they watch Fox News, listen to certain talk radio shows and read things like NewsMax.

In other words, people who consume news have become polarized, and badly so. This is a legitimate problem, though I’m certainly not endorsing state censorship to fix it… that’d be like cutting off your hand to fix hangnail.

Closed-Circuit Thinking

Years ago I wrote a little series of essays for myself entitled Closed-Circuit Thinking, mostly as a way of clarifying my own thoughts. In it, I addressed the problems that arise in groups of people that listen to no voices but their own. As it turns out, I wasn’t the only person thinking along these lines. There’s now a considerable body of work of the subject, generally called Group Polarization.

Fearmongering Propaganda Is Immensely Profitable–and Distracting

mediaCharles Hugh Smith – Let’s start by asking: if Trump had lost and his supporters had angrily taken to the streets, destroying private property and threatening police officers while proclaiming “not my president,” would the mainstream media have characterized the rioters differently than it has the pro-Clinton rioters?

Any fair-minded observer knows the answer is yes: the CNN/MSM would have lambasted the “rioting deplorables” as “what’s wrong with America.”

Substitution is a useful tool to expose bias. How come the CNN/mainstream corporate media isn’t declaring the pro-Clinton rioters “deplorables”?

This tells us something else is going on here. I want to explain what’s really going on, but first we need to run a simple experiment:

Turn off CNN, PBS, CBS et al., your Twitter and Facebook feeds, etc. for seven days, and live solely in the media-free real world for a week. If you’re truly interested in understanding what’s really going on in America, then come back in a week and read the rest of the essay.

Have you pulled out the CNN/MSM/social media fearmongering/propaganda dripline for a few days? This is a necessary step, as we shall soon see.

Everyone who is consuming CNN/MSM/ self-referential social media every waking hour is being played as chumps. Start by asking yourself: cui bono–to whose benefit? Who is benefiting from the ceaseless fearmongering of the CNN/social-media-parroting mainstream corporate media?

(Longtime readers know I start any analysis by asking cui bono.)

Two Power Elites have benefited enormously from the ceaseless media fearmongering: the owners of the corporate media spewing the fearmongering, and the Neoliberal camp of the Ruling Elite.

65 USA ‘Journalists’ At Dinner With HRC’s Team And John Podesta

Several top journalists and TV news anchors RSVPed “yes” to attend a private, off-the-record gathering at the New York home of Joel Benenson, the chief campaign strategist for Hillary Clinton, two days before she announced her candidacy in 2015, according to emails Wikileaks has published from John Podesta’s purported accounts.

The guest list for an earlier event at the home of John Podesta was limited to reporters who were expected to cover Clinton on the campaign trail.

The email thread starts with Jesse Ferguson, the campaign’s Deputy National Press Secretary and Senior Spokesman, describing the venues and target audience of each gathering:

We wanted to make sure everyone on this email had the latest information on the two upcoming dinners with reporters. Both are off-the-record.

1) Thursday night, April 9th at 7:00p.m. Dinner at the Home of John Podesta… This will be with about 20 reporters who will closely cover the campaign (aka the bus).

shills2) Friday night, April 10th at 6:30p.m. Cocktails and Hors D’oeuvre at the Home of Joel Benenson… This is with a broader universe of New York reporters.

The “broader universe of New York reporters” includes several top news anchors for network and cable channels, many of whom are listed as a “yes” for the appearance:

From ABC: Cecilia Vega, David Muir, Diane Sawyer (who could only stay for 30 minutes), and George Stephanopoulos.

From CBS News: Norah O’Donnell. Continue reading
