Plants Communicate Via Symbiotic Root Fungi

Zen-Haven August 11 2013

Human arrogance has always assumed we are evolutionarily superior to plants, but it appears that modern science may be the antidote to this egocentric view.

Researchers in the UK have discovered an extensive underground network connecting plants by their roots, serving as a complex interplant communication system… a “plant Internet,” if you will.

One organism is responsible for this amazing biochemical highway: a type of fungus called mycorrhizae. Researchers from the University of Aberdeen devised a clever experiment to isolate the effects of these extensive underground networks. They grew sets of broad bean plants, allowing some to develop mycorrhizal nets, but preventing them in others.

They also eliminated the plants’ normal through-the-air communication by covering the plants with bags. Then they infested some of the plants with aphids. The results were remarkable.

Most people have no idea how important mycorrhizal fungi are for plant growth. They really are one of the keys to successful growth of plants. In my own garden, I just purchased a 15 gallon vortex compost brewer in which I grow these fungi in large quantities for my ornamental and edible landscape.

Underground Communications Network Thwarts Infestation

The aphid-infested plants were able to signal the other plants, connected through mycorrhizae, of an imminent attack—giving them a “heads up” and affording them time to mount their own chemical defenses in order to prevent infestation.

In this case, the alerted bean plants deployed aphid-repelling chemicals and other chemicals that attract wasps, which are aphids’ natural predators. The bean plants that were not connected received no such warning and became easy prey for the pesky insects.

Metatron On The Sequoia

Earth-Keeper Chronicles June 3 2013

The largest Giant Sequoia exceed 12 million pounds in weight, surpass 370 feet in height, over 40 feet in base diameter with volumes exceeding 53,000 cubic feet. They emit and consume massive amounts of water & light. Sequoia convert water into liquid crystals and produce a thetaean energy frequency and thus project a resonant field of integral balance.

The Giant Sequoia are conscious energies unlike any other on the planet. These ancient entities project a laminated field or layered aura, similar in stratified structure to that of humanity. They are self aware and possess both an individualized and collective consciousness that is extremely unique and benevolent. These majestic beings are amassed in rare locations, and now grow naturally only in the western regions of North America.

It can be said that the Sequoia & Redwood are record keepers of your planet & in that sense are symbiotic with the crystalline members of the mineral kingdom of the earth. The Giant Sequoia and Redwood are two among very few members of the plant kingdom that have conscious awareness beyond linear flow of the present time. Indeed they are aware of the past, present and to some degree, the future of both Humanity and the Earth. This differentiates the Sequoia (and certain others) as the great majority of trees and plants are cognizant in group-collective awareness in only the ‘now’ of present time.

The Sequoia Beings convert water into liquid crystals and produce a theta energy frequency. The Sequoia project a resonant field of astonishing integral balance. Sequoia Trees are integral, both male/female, unisexual monoecious. The energy projection is nurturing and formidable, projecting a nurturing resonance of both Divine Feminine & Divine Masculine . In terrestrial polarity terms the Sequoia energy is feminine in nature.

Medicinal Uses Of Lemon Balm: Grow Your Own Medicine

Natural Society May 18 2013

An easy to grow and wonderful smelling plant, lemon balm has many healing applications and medicinal uses. If you grow your own herbs and plants to use for cooking and healing, then lemon balm is one plant you must have in your growing herb garden. You can cook with it, perfume with it, and heal with it. So, what’s not to love?

Background and History

Native to southern Europe and the Mediterranean, but now found growing in the wild across the globe, lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) is a member of the mint family (like oregano, thyme, and peppermint, of course). Though while the leaves are shaped similarly to others in the mint family, slightly thickened with deep veins, one thing that sets lemon balm apart is its scent. The herb has a sweet lemony smell, which likely made the plant all the more popular over the years.

5 Anti-Aging Herbs to Slow the Aging Process

Natural Society | January 26 2013

Chris Kilham has been called the “Indiana Jones of natural medicine” and the “medicine hunter”.

He is an ethnobotanist and has researched medicinal plants in over 30 countries. He travels, writes, studies, and makes appearances on television to help people understand the healing powers of plants.

While it seems he may be in the game to brand natural plant medicines, working for Naturex, one of the largest botanical extraction companies in the world, he does havesomeworthwhile information to share – especially regarding anti-aging herbs.

If you’re looking for natural anti-aging, you won’t want to miss these herbs that can slow the aging process. In pursuit of the fountain of youth, Kilham recommends the following for anti-aging and longevity:
