Make Someone’s Day: Heartfelt Thank You Ideas for Any Occasion

The “Thank You” game

The “Thank You” gameCheryl Richardson – This time of year always makes me think of my Dad. A big, burly guy who became quite a mush in his old age, my Dad loved to surprise people with little gifts of kindness, especially during the holidays. Sometimes he’d bring miniature Christmas trees to elderly clients who were home-bound and lonely.

One time I saw him slip a $20 bill to the oil guy when he came to fill our tank during Thanksgiving week. My Dad was an accountant who offered his time and expertise to clients who were financially strapped and couldn’t afford his services. Continue reading

How Dare You! Unraveling the Paradox of Insufferable Elitism

How Dare You! Unraveling the Paradox of Insufferable ElitismCharles Hugh Smith – I’m never more than one inch away from converting my site from essays to photos of kittens and puppies as the only means to gain respite from being hammered for my many failings as a human being. But alas, were I to do so, some readers would detect an insufferable air of elitist superiority in my selection of kitten photos, others would trash me for my worthless posts, and should I post a photo of a sad puppy, I’d promptly be denounced as a bitter old man.

Welcome to the circular firing squad. As a culture, we seem to have reached a permanently high plateau of extreme touchiness, a sensitivity to slight coupled with an urgent need to lash out not just at opinions but at those who present them, a touchiness which manifests as an irrepressible flood tide of righteous indignation: how dare you! Happy Thanksgiving

gratitudeShanta Gabriel – The qualities of Gratitude and Thankfulness can lead you to a pure heart. They change the energy fields, within and around your body, and transform your mental state by lifting your vibrational frequency.

The American celebration of Thanksgiving draws higher ideals into the forefront of people’s thoughts; the ideal of family and joining together in love, the ideal of abundance and the bounty that is possible and most importantly, the ideal of giving thanks.

When one is in the state of giving thanks there is such an elevation in consciousness that all appearances to the contrary begin to drop away. A sense of gratitude creates a high frequency of energy that is akin to a loving embrace from the Universe. There is scientific proof that gratitude can actually change your brain chemistry.

Giving thanks can become a sacred act that calls forth all the Divine assistance needed for you to feel supported and cared for in this life. Sharing whatever one has is a part of the ideal behind Thanksgiving celebration. The creation of sports events and shopping days are modern distractions from the original intention of a day set aside for loving kindness and thankful prayers of gratitude for all that one has in life.

Thank Self (And Family Dynamics)

Family DynamicsDjwhal Khul here. Tashi Delek.

Alright. Now at Thanksgiving I generally comment about thanking the native peoples around the world and really work with giving thanks for all of the blessings and to express gratitude.

This year I am going to add to that: “Thanks for family dynamics.” And this is a very important kind of family dynamic as one cat growls at another cat sitting on the desk here and they’re all friends. So you’re getting maybe a picture a little ahead here of what we’re entering into. We have the Moon moving into Scorpio over the weekend so Saturday, Sunday, Monday dealing with healing energy and the healing dynamic.

And before that it’s in Libra which can bring some balance and some beauty and some graciousness to the table.
