The Woke Revolution: Totalitarianism vs. Counter-Revolution

Upheaval and Pushback

The Woke Revolution: Totalitarianism vs. Counter-RevolutionLars Møller – As pointed out by Victor Davis Hanson, Trumpism is not so much an expression of a revolution as a counter-revolution. However, the movement is truly in the nature of an insurrection. It is fueled by a fierce anger that has built up from coast to coast since the creeping attacks on national institutions — and identity — during the Obama years.

Another insurrection took place in France in the period 1793–96. At that time, the country was in turmoil as a result of the Parisian revolution which had dismantled constitutive rules and institutions of society, including the Catholic Church, and replaced them with an ideology-obsessed tyranny. WEF Totalitarians Seek to Euthanize the West

WEF Totalitarians Seek to Euthanize the WestJ.B. Shurk – Totalitarianism is the warm bath in which civilization slits its wrists. It envelops the people with petty rules, strange dogmas, immoral duties, and forced sacrifices. It warms its victims with intoxicating promises of the government’s false love. It leaves the citizen naked — stripped first of his free will, then the thoughts in his head, and finally anything he once called his own. It slowly dispossesses each person of his personhood, until the population withers into frail, colorless facsimiles of the bleak, omnipresent State.

Without the courage to act, the desire to think, the wisdom to pray, or the conscience to object, human purpose disappears. Society is exsanguinated of its vitality, creativity, spirituality, and mirth — until it slips beneath the water and stops breathing. Continue reading

The Power of the Powerless Is Real

J B Shurk – One of the most challenging obstacles working against ordinary citizens in the West is the self-satisfying presumption that Western institutions and philosophies are inherently immune from the rise of totalitarianism.  This is an understandable blind spot.

Their identities have been forged, to various degrees, in the great traditions of Enlightenment notions of liberty, free speech, and natural rights.  Surely the victors over communism, fascism, and Nazism cannot then fall victim to the madness of those same philosophies collapsing their systems from within.  This “Us/Them” self-delusion has kept the citizenry from recognizing tyranny inside its gates. The Covidian Cult (Part III)

covid cultC. J. Hopkins – In The Covidian Cult (Part I) and (Part II) I characterized the so-called “New Normal” as a “global totalitarian ideological movement.” Since I published those essays, more and more people have come to see it for what it is, not “insanity” or “an overreaction,” but, in fact, a new form of totalitarianism, a globalized, pathologized, depoliticized form, which is being systematically implemented under the guise of “protecting the public health.”

In order to oppose this new form of totalitarianism, we need to understand how it both resembles and differs from earlier totalitarian systems. The similarities are fairly obvious — the suspension of constitutional rights, governments ruling by decree, official propaganda, public loyalty rituals, the outlawing of political opposition, censorship, social segregation, goon squads terrorizing the public, and so on — but the differences are not obvious. The Manufacturing of a Mass Psychosis

totalitarianism

Doctor de Vaca – Diseases of a body can spread throughout a population and reach epidemic proportion. So, too, can diseases of the mind. Without these epidemics of the latter variety the mass psychosis is the most dangerous.

During a mass psychosis this madness becomes the norm in a society, and delusionary beliefs spread like a contagion.  Mass delusions can take many forms and as madness can manifest in countless ways the specific manner the mass psychosis unfolds will differ based on the historical and cultural context of the infected society.
