Thinking You’re “Ugly” Can Damage Your Well-Being: It’s So Important To Develop Self Love

Kalee Brown – To start, if you’ve ever looked down upon yourself or spoken the words “I’m so ugly” to yourself, you’re not alone. You could be someone who has an immense amount of self love and still have some self doubt occasionally, and that’s perfectly understandable. We live in a society that perpetuates the belief that beauty is only skin deep, and it can be difficult to ignore that message every moment of every day.

However, it’s when you start to believe those thoughts fueled by hate rather than those focused on self love that it becomes a deeper issue. If you feel like your inner thoughts are filled with more body shaming and negativity than they are with positivity and self love, ask yourself: Why do I feel this way, and when did I start to let my outer appearance determine my self worth? Struggling With Chronic Illness? HEAL is the One Documentary to Watch

“The body is so intelligent and it’s designed to heal and repair itself at every moment.” ~ Kelly Noonan Gores, producer of HEAL documentary

Carolanne Wright – The innate wisdom of the body can heal any disease, any disorder — if we would only get out of the way. This is the premise behind the documentary HEAL, which takes the mind-body connection to a whole new level with interviews from leading scientists, holistic practitioners, energy workers and medical doctors — including Kelly Brogan, M.D., Bruce Lipton, Ph.D., Dr. Deepak Chopra, Anthony Williams, among many others.

Considering almost 50 percent of Americans are dealing with some form of chronic illness, HEAL couldn’t have come at a better time.

Autumn Equinox 2016

timeLaurie Baum  – The Autumn Equinox arrives on Thursday, September 22, 2016, and marks the moment when the light of day is equal to the dark of night. We are moving into a period of shorter daylight hours in the northern hemisphere, which will give us more time for greater introspection and soul reflection.

The days leading up to the Autumn Equinox also provide an auspicious opportunity to use meditation, prayer, and affirmations to focus on outcomes you would like to create. It is a law of physics that light is most powerful when it bends. The power of the changing angle of the Sun at every equinox and solstice strengthens the power of your thoughts and enables you to make great spiritual, mental, emotional, and material progress. Use this time to accelerate your evolution and support the growth of the people around you. Pray for peace and positive outcomes for all. Remember, your thoughts and prayers are very powerful at this time!

The fall season will feel like the calm after the storm, given the turbulence caused by a series of eclipses from mid-August to mid-September, along with a potent alignment of Saturn and Neptune, earlier in September. These celestial alignments have challenged our assumptions about the security of our future, as certain things we thought would never change are changing. This is happening in many people’s personal lives as well, in terms of the relationships we thought would last forever seeming to veer in new directions, and on a global scale as previous beacons of world leadership and sanity are behaving in unpredictable and unproductive ways.

Further, this recent Saturn-Neptune square, which occurs once every 36 years, will cause us to question the line between truth and deception. Many untruths told in the past will be exposed under this planetary alignment. And you will discover ways in which we and others have misrepresented the truth so as to blunt the pain of a harsh reality or to achieve what seemed would be a higher outcome. While many truths will be uncovered during this period, other secrets will be further buried. It will be up to us to go into a higher state of mind to discern true reality from fantasy.

It will be important to slow down, stop the busy mind chatter, breathe deeply, and stand in a more transcendent perspective. From there, we may look down on earthly situations with a more expanded view and see the big picture. Use meditation, contemplation, and prayer when you need to step away from over-involvement in chaotic situations. From the enlarged vantage point you will gain, you will become aware of exactly what you need to know so you may clarify any confusion you or others may have.

Your role at this pivotal time in human history is to hold as much light as possible in your physical body by purifying and releasing all thoughts, misperceptions, or stories that are no longer integral to your mental well being. On a physical level, it is a good time let go of material goods you no longer need. It also is an auspicious time for a de-tox or a fast, to release physical toxins from your body. The greater lightness in your body and physical surroundings will help you make changes with less physical resistance. As you learn to live with less of what you thought you wanted, you will gain more of what you really need.

A rather quiet start to the early fall season in the sense of few astrological transits (compared to the pace of earlier this year) will give way to another active period at the end of this year, with expansive Jupiter squaring depth-seeking Pluto on Thanksgiving Day; karmic Saturn aligning with change-oriented Uranus on Christmas Eve; and expansive Jupiter opposing Uranus on the day after Christmas. These astrological transits portend sea changes in the way we live and experience our everyday realities. The more you step back, see the big picture, and align with your higher self, the more you will be able to transcend the inevitable chaos that may be created in the world.

We are living through a dynamic time where the atmosphere is charged with the powerful electromagnetic energy of these rare and increasingly frequent planetary alignments. Use these potent energies to your highest good. And envision a more peaceful, coherent, loving world that will support all to live in peace and harmony. Each of your thoughts have enormous power to create change!

Many Blessings, for Love & Light in the Autumn Season,
Laurie

Healing From A Spiritual Perspective: Energy Medicine

Braxton A. Cosby – There is quite a bit of speculation around the power of the mind over the body concerning performance and more specifically, from the aspect of healing. There is a strong element of proof behind this when you get down to the hard science of how the body functions. At all times, the body wants to maintain a state of homeostasis. It never really wants to be completely well or sick, but walk the fine line of wellness, expressed across the three paradigms of mental, physical and spiritual. If we break down each one of these, we would have to look at the overall effects they have on an individual and the components which make up each one.

Mental – the part of the psyche that helps to regulate how one sees themselves. Are you a winner or a loser, fat or skinny, healthy or sick, attractive or ugly? Although some of these examples of descriptors are extreme one way or another, truth be told, most people feel some kind of way about it. Ultimately, how you function in society carries an element of confidence with it which can be driven by any myriad of factors. These examples comprise only a small dimension

Physical – a measurement of how the body functions as compared to standardized baselines and norms. This incorporates body types, height, weight, BMI and other nominal scientific data such as blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar. These numbers suggest how well the body is tolerating outside influences such as food, nutrition and even weather elements such as smoke and pollution. Continue reading

8 Emotional Patterns That Disturb Inner Peace

“If we invest our feelings in the way others behave, then we’re destined to suffer because there are always going to be unthoughtful and uncompassionate people in our society.” – P Watt

At some stage of our lives we all experience emotional dysfunction to some degree, especially when we’re maturing. In some cases it may just be part of the learning curve as we grow into our more developed selves. Simple examples are that we might dwell on a problem too long, get upset or angry too easily, or think self-abusive thoughts consistently. For others it might impact us more significantly and even result in a form of mental illness.

Yet that isn’t to say that negative thoughts or feelings are dysfunctional. In the short term, experiencing negative thoughts and emotions is natural because we’re human and it is part of the human experience. Instead of that negativity being suppressed, when we give it the space to breathe, it voluntarily gives way to our fundamental philosophies and beliefs and more positive feelings. However, when we feel these emotions for ongoing periods of time it can have a detrimental impact on us and others.

Even though it’s important to productively feel all of our emotions, if we want to establish and maintain our inner peace, then we have no option but to overcome the emotional dysfunction plaguing our ego and sense of self.

For example, constantly being stressed, angry, sad, and jealous, or an array of other negative mind states, is emotional dysfunction. Rationales like “I’ve got a short fuse” or “I’m heartbroken” reflect self-destructive behaviour, especially when they occur over long periods of time. Anything negative that we continually maintain inside of us is inherently self-abuse. Unfortunately, these states of mind are generally considered normal and acceptable for people in our society, while we put little emphasis on the damage that these states have on our health and general wellbeing.
