Media Won’t Admit That Trump was Right About Wiretapping

trump campaignShawn – Oh, it’s been quite the spectacle this week, watching mainstream media cretins from CNN to the New York Times go out of their way to insist that President Trump wasn’t right when he said earlier this year that the Obama administration wiretapped his campaign. Even while reporting on the latest news – that the FBI wiretapped Paul Manafort both before and after the campaign (and perhaps during) – these liars are still unwilling to admit that Trump was right all along. Still unwilling to take back all of the nasty, mocking things they said about him for months. Still unwilling to simply come clean with viewers and say, “Yeah, we really bungled this one.”

But they did, and their viewers and readers damn well know it.

From CNN:

US investigators wiretapped former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort under secret court orders before and after the election, sources tell CNN, an extraordinary step involving a high-ranking campaign official now at the center of the Russia meddling probe.

The government snooping continued into early this year, including a period when Manafort was known to talk to President Donald Trump.

Some of the intelligence collected includes communications that sparked concerns among investigators that Manafort had encouraged the Russians to help with the campaign, according to three sources familiar with the investigation. Two of these sources, however, cautioned that the evidence is not conclusive.

Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team, which is leading the investigation into Russia’s involvement in the election, has been provided details of these communications.

Not only have spokesmen for President Obama denied any surveillance of Trump Tower during the election, both the Justice Department and the FBI have issued their own denials. That means that all Manafort-related surveillance was cut off during the campaign or that someone was lying the whole time.

The important thing here really isn’t that President Trump, or even American news-consumers, get an apology from the likes of the Washington Post. We know that’s not going to happen, and it wouldn’t really be worth much if it did. We’ve just about given up any hope of our Fourth Estate restoring the credibility they once had…to do so, they would actually have to WANT to do so, and they clearly don’t.

No, what’s important is that the Obama administration was spying on a Republican campaign for president, with or without the full knowledge of Barack Obama himself. This is what we need more information about. Because right now, it looks really bad.
