A near-complete overhaul of the Republican National Committee’s operations and staffing just occurred this week.
The first casualties appear to be at the top. According to insider reports, more than 60 RNC staffers across the political, communications, and data departments are being pushed out and instructed to reapply for their jobs.
Just days after Trump allies Lara Trump and Michael Whatley assumed the co-chair and chair roles, the complete restructuring of the RNC has begun.
The purge extends all the way up to five senior staff members being forced into resignation, though their names have not been made public.
The Trump team justified these actions as a necessary effort to streamline what they’ve derided as bloat and bureaucracy hampering the committee’s operations.
“We’re in the process of evaluating the organization and staff to ensure the building is aligned with its vision,” stated new RNC chief operating officer Sean Cairncross.
The overhaul undoubtedly serves a second key purpose – solidifying complete operational control by Trump and his supporters over every arm of the RNC apparatus. Under the new structure, the Trump 2024 campaign will effectively merge with and absorb key RNC functions like communications, data analytics, and fundraising into a singular monolithic entity.
This aggressive move represents the culmination of Trump’s systematic ,years-long campaign to oust any lingering opposition within the Republican Party’s institutional ranks — the dramatic end to the neoconservative wing of the party at the top.
It sends an unmistakable message that any staffers not on board with Trump’s “America First” agenda will be swiftly expelled.
The Trump brain trust has made clear that realigning the RNC as a campaign-controlled bastion for the MAGA movement will be its top priority alongside traditional electioneering efforts.
Lara Trump has already proclaimed the new focus will be on fueling Trump’s agenda on “election integrity” and pursuing new election tactics like “ballot harvesting.”
Democrats operate a similarly streamlined party apparatus under President Joe Biden.
As Trump heads towards the 2024 general election against Biden, the RNC has been quickly transformed into a vehicle for the MAGA crusade by Trump’s own hand.
“So I’ll tell you right now what is already underway at the RNC. We have for the first time ever, an Election Integrity division. This means vast resources dedicated solely to this cause,” Lara Trump told Fox News on Sunday.
The RNC will have “a nationwide network of volunteers, whether it’s poll watchers, trained poll workers — these are people who can physically go in count ballots that are coming in, know how many are coming in, how many are going out — volunteer and paid attorneys.
