Decoding the Tao

Decoding the TaoOwen Waters – Long ago, the first time I read the ancient Tao Te Ching (pronounced “Dow Day Jing”), I ran into so many apparent contradictions that I felt like I was going cross-eyed with confusion!

I have not been alone in that type of feeling. To most Western minds, the nature of the Tao is a huge mystery that makes little or no obvious sense. I ran into statements that suggested that the Tao was manifest as everything in the world and, yet, the Tao was nothing and nowhere. Well, which is it, I thought, everywhere or nowhere?

The problem lies with the limitations placed on Western translators, as they are part of a cultural tradition which rarely teaches that there is an original state of unchanging, perfect beingness that lies behind even the Creator. Continue reading

There is a way to remove the PrAuth barrier and at the same time, solve the unaffordability crisis. Continue reading

War Powers And Executive Authority: The Case For Epic Fury

War Powers And Executive Authority: The Case For Epic FuryAlexander Muse – Last night, President Donald Trump ordered targeted military strikes against Iran. Critics immediately declared the action unconstitutional. Representative Thomas Massie and others argued that, absent a formal declaration of war, the president had exceeded his authority. Staying Centered in a Wild WorldNick Polizzi – Before going to bed, my wife Michelle and I made the mistake of reading some mainstream news headlines, which — as you know — are fear-based with only small bits of level-headed truth.

Not a smart way to end the day!

“If it bleeds, it leads!” This saying was true when it was first spoken a few decades ago, but is probably truer now than ever.

The tricky thing about fear is that it can be contagious, like a wild fire. It doesn’t tend to stay contained within the words of the worrisome news story you’re reading. The tension might spark there, but it often spreads into other realms of our awareness, tinting the lens that we’re viewing our world and our selves through. Continue reading
