Alex Thomas – A group of left-leaning psychiatrists recently told a conference at Yale University that Donald Trump has the hallmarks of mental illness that “compromise” his role as president despite never actually meeting with him.
The 25 researchers have taken the campaign against Trump to the next level, breaking away from all ethical standards by discussing so-called evidence of his mental health that has already been attacked by others within the psychiatric community.
“Dr James Gilligan, a psychiatrist, and professor at New York University, said many psychiatrists have been timid about approaching the topic because of the Goldwater rule,” reported the Daily Mail. “The rule states it’s unethical for psychiatrists to give a professional opinion about public figures they have not examined in person.”
“However, Dr. Gilligan insists his and his colleagues’ duty comes from the Duty to Warn, a concept about when a medical professional fails to warn ‘victims’ when someone communicates an explicit threat of danger.”
The Daily Mail continued, “The group, organized by psychiatrist Dr John Gartner, has considered the president – who’s fast approaching his 100th day in office on April 29 – an unfit leader for the US.”
The group has gone so far as to start a petition that has gathered over 40,000 signatures and specifically calls for removing the sitting president literally based on the outside opinion of 25 “professionals”.
We, the undersigned mental health professionals (please state your degree), believe in our professional judgment that Donald Trump manifests a serious mental illness that renders him psychologically incapable of competently discharging the duties of President of the United States. And we respectfully request he be removed from office, according to article 4 of the 25th amendment to the Constitution, which states that the president will be replaced if he is “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office.”
Fortunately, some within the community have seen through this transparent attempt at taking out the president for political reasons with the man who co-wrote the literal manual on mental disorders destroying the claims made by Garner and his group.
“Most amateur diagnosticians have mislabeled President Trump with the diagnosis of narcissistic personality disorder. I wrote the criteria that define this disorder, and Mr. Trump doesn’t meet them. He may be a world-class narcissist, but this doesn’t make him mentally ill, because he does not suffer from the distress and impairment required to diagnose mental disorder,” wrote Dr. Allen Frances in a letter to the New York Times.
This is clearly yet another attempt by the global establishment to take out the anti-globalist sitting president with the “priesthood” being simply the latest weapon deployed.
