In a recent interview with WPEC CBS12 News reporter Jay O’Brien, Governor DeSantis defended a joke he made recently where he referred to the Biden administration as the Brandon administration.
The corporate media now takes great offense to any mention of “Let’s go, Brandon” with one Associated Press activist trying to storm the cabin of a Southwest Airlines plane to try and get the pilot fired after the reporter claimed the pilot ended his signoff by declaring “Let’s go, Brandon.”
O’Brien attacked DeSantis for using a variation of the popular chant, claiming DeSantis disrespected Joe Biden by using a euphemism for the “f*ck Joe Biden” chant that sprung up at college and pro football stadiums this fall.
“Do you feel that that is the proper level of exchange between a Governor and a President?” O’Brien asked Governor DeSantis.
DeSantis expressed amusement at the questions about the impropriety of making fun of Joe Biden when the Biden administration claims DeSantis wants to kill kids by not imposing unscientific mask mandates in schools and Democrats regularly smear DeSantis as DeathSantis on social media.
Governor DeSantis then tweaked O’Brien about how sensitive the corporate media got about the “Let’s go, Brandon” chants.
“Well, let me ask you how he’s treated us. Well, look, I think it’s a joke but honestly, one of the reasons why that has taken on is because a lot of your folks in the national media, they get very sensitive to it,” DeSantis stated. “Because what happened was people were chanting something else very colorful. You had a reporter though, say it was ‘Let’s go, Brandon’ when that’s not really what was said.”
DeSantis explained that the chant became so popular with Americans as a way to poke a stick at the corporate media that acts like an extension of the Biden administration.
“I think the reason why it’s caught on is because I think it needles the national media a little bit because look, they’ve become very partisan,” DeSantis added.
DeSantis concluded by pointing out that celebrities, athletes, and regular citizens were often cheered as heroes in the corporate media for profanely protesting Donald Trump.
“Was there hand wringing about the stuff said about Trump for four years? No, there wasn’t,” DeSantis concluded?
