Rosehips Melt Belly Fat Naturally

Rosehips have been used medicinally for thousands of years, and have been studied to have value in a range of health conditions. Human research now suggests this fruit from wild rose blossoms may be an effective treatment for the modern epidemic of obesity.[i]

Earlier animal studies demonstrated that rosehip extract inhibits weight gain and decreases visceral fat.  But it wasn’t clear whether it could also help people.

Japanese researchers decided to find out.  They conducted a 12-week, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study of 32 people with a body mass index (BMI) of more than 25 but less than 30.  A BMI in that range is considered overweight but not obese.

Every day the subjects received a chewable tablet containing either a placebo or 100 mg of rosehip extract.  During the study, the participants didn’t make any changes to their diets or their calorie intake. Continue reading

According to statistics on Therapeutic Drug Use compiled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), nearly 50% of all Americans fill one prescription each month, and just over 10% fill five or more prescriptions each month.

This data also indicates that between visits to doctors offices, emergency rooms, and outpatient hospital care, nearly 3.5 billion prescriptions are written each year. This number does not include all of the patients who are prescribed medication as part of their inpatient care during a hospital stay.

Weight Loss And The Ego/Inner Child

weightJelaila Starr – Losing weight is a funny thing and a great mystery to so many of us.  What makes us lose weight?  What makes us gain weight?  It seems that there are as many answers and there are people.  Throughout this article I wish to share with you a perspective that has allowed me to lose weight and a bit of the journey that led me to it.  It’s multidimensional so be prepared to have a few beliefs shattered as that seems to be the case when we step outside the “box” and look at things from a higher perspective or “bigger picture.”  But, as always, use discernment and if anything I write doesn’t resonate for you please feel free to toss it.

For most of my life I was one of those fortunate people who didn’t have to be concerned with my weight.  I could eat a pint of ice cream for breakfast and not gain an ounce.  This changed once I embarked on the Spiritual Path in 1994.  At first it was just a 3-5 pound fluctuation but then it increased once I got serious about spiritual growth and in 1996 began conscious emotional clearing in order to ascend.  By 1998 I had gained nearly 30 pounds.  For me this was tragic as it triggered all my childhood fears of being scorned and ridiculed as my mother had been.  I tried dieting using a high protein/low carbohydrate diet, the water diet where you drink half your weight in ounces of water each day and a few others.  Each time I lost a few pounds but quickly regained them once I got off the diet.

I tried exercising but within a couple of days would pull a muscle.  I tried yoga doing 90 minutes of yoga in a 105 degree room for 90 minutes, 4 times a week.   The first time I walked into the studio and felt the intense heat I thought, “Oh my god, I must be insane!”  Yet I persevered and it helped more than anything, but I found I just couldn’t keep it up 4 times a week.  I wasn’t physically ready as my adrenals were too depleted.  Each thing I tried helped a little but once I stopped it, the weight returned.

Vitamin C For Taming Tension, Burning Fat, And Much More

Science Daily reports that a team at the University of Alabama (Huntsville) found that rats who were fed 200 mg/day vitamin C experienced reduced levels of plasma stress hormones, as well as lowered indicators of physical and emotional stress.” – C Wright

If you have undesirable fat around your midsection or would like to support cardiovascular health or reduce diabetic symptoms, vitamin C can help. Not only does it improve stamina, boost immunity, lessen stress response and curtail inflammation, but it also encourages insulin sensitivity and lowers concentrations of C-reactive protein (CRP) — a biomarker which suggests heart disease risk.

A case in point is research from the University of California (Berkeley), which found participants who took approximately 500 milligrams of vitamin C each day experienced a 24 percent drop in plasma CRP levels after two months of the protocol. According to a press release:

“C-reactive protein is a marker of inflammation, and there is a growing body of evidence that chronic inflammation is linked to an increased risk of heart disease, diabetes and even Alzheimer’s disease,” said Gladys Block, UC Berkeley professor of epidemiology and public health nutrition and lead author of the study. “If our finding of vitamin C’s ability to lower CRP is confirmed through other trials, vitamin C could become an important public health intervention.”

As a defense against infection or injury, the body triggers inflammatory cytokines, which then prompts the production of CRP by the liver. The researchers are unsure as to how vitamin C is able to lower CRP levels but suspect that the mechanism might be the suppression of cytokine production. Continue reading
