How to Create A Theme-Based Party

partyA theme-based party has a whole different level of excitement and fun. Having every guest dressed up according to the theme adds the wow element. Take, for example, Halloween parties. These are captivating for a reason. Everyone knows the theme is horror. Most are eager to see what their family and friends decide to wear because there’s this surprise element.

All your parties should be planned with this factor in mind. Surprise your friends by coming up with creative party favor ideas. Similarly, when you host a party and set a theme be eager to see what your guests’ contributions to bringing your party alive.

partyRemember, clothes are not the only thing that defines a theme. There’s food, music, lighting and decoration. Of course this isn’t going to come cheap. In fact, arranging a successful themed party can require a significant cash investment.  Work out a budget so you know exactly what you can afford and what you can’t.

Here’s what you need to keep in mind while setting a theme for your party:

Run A Calendar Check

Check for special days in the current month such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Halloween etc. You can set many themes on these particular dates. However, make sure you have a few days before the day arrives because you will have to arrange many things Such as, food, decorations etc. In addition, send your invites a little early since a lot of people plan for such holidays in advance, and may have to miss your party if you’re late in sending them an invite.

Set A Theme According to the Likes Of Your Guests

Keep your guests in mind when planning your party. It is important that your guests like your theme idea, otherwise they will either give it a miss or will not be very kicked about attending it, and if you have guests that aren’t interested in your party, it will end up being a very boring party.

For example, if you are a highly corporate guy and your friend circle is based on corporate people then having a casual party and setting the theme to black suits will do well. Similarly, if you’re inviting Harry Potter fans then a HP themed party would be great with everyone coming up wearing HP glasses etc. All you need is to understand the likes of your guests.

Cost

The more you try to make your party lit, the more money it will require. Themed parties cost more money than regular ones because there are additional things attached when you consider a themed party. You will have to arrange decors and spend money on costumes etc. This can send your budget high and cause you troubles.

Themed parties are often held at venues other than homes. This adds up the rent cost which depends upon the space you rent. If you are low on budget, try to come up with a theme that you can manage within your own space.

In addition to this, some themed parties include masquerade dances. While they are a huge success, there is added cost of masks for males and females. These masks can be rented as well, but it would be wiser to buy some if you’re planning on throwing such parties every now and then.

Themed parties are great because you never know who you’re dancing with, who you’re speaking with. Most people love them because they end up making new connections and even friends before it’s over. Hosting a masquerade party will make you famous among your circle of friends and neighbors.
